7900GT Signature or X1900XT?

If you get the 1 I mentioned, you can save as much as $130 vs an XTX. And no, you wont be missing anything, they're nearly the same identical card.

Go for the X1900XT and save yourself the money. I've had my hands on both an XTX and an XT and the XTX oced marginally better on the core (~20MHz). Every card is different of course, but from waht I've read that's the average gain of an XTX over an XT.

thanks, that's the same card on my "wish list" currently... and i believe that rebate has been there for a while which is good since i'm prolly not purchasing until late july (need cash and may as well wait for the big am2 price drop too)

that's what i've been inferring from all my reading and benchmark digging... i'm primarily concerned about Oblivion as that will be my main game but the XT only gets 2 FPS lower than the XTX so that's worth $80 to me

also, i read through the OC guide posted in this thread and it looks like something i will try

Yes, this is correct.. the default voltage to the GPU & RAM is also increased slightly, but aside from that theres no difference & the X1900 allows voltage to be adjusted in software, no physical modification required.

Btw, I did in fact buy an XTX myself but due to an HIS rebate at the time I would have saved a whopping $12 going for the XT instead, so for me it was well worth it... if I were buying right now I'd go for the $370 Sapphire XT.

thanks for the confirmation... once july 24th hits i should be good to go on my new system as AMD price drops will happen then and my bank account should have the necessary funds as well

nice to know i just saved myself the 80 bux by opting out of the XTX too
