So basically it's a slightly overclocked but cooler running 90nm 7800GT for $140? That's a steal! Throw an Accelero X1 on there, do a vmod and overclock that bad boy!

the 7900gs has been out for awhile just OEM and not for retail, the "official" launch date of the retail version should be Aug 30th for $199...the 7900GS on woot.com were most likely pulled from Dell's XPS 410 ...i've seen them being sold on ebay for a while now using this method.

That explains things. Thanks. I was wondering why that looked like an Nvidia reference board.

Anyway, that was still a sweet deal, but I'll just wait and see what happens with the retail release.

MSI, and only a 90-day warranty?

No thanks.

agreed, and Aug 30th isn't that far off, i rather wait for a "real" warranty and i'm really interested what eVga and XFX might have in-store for their KO and XXX versions.

That would be sweet. I saw a post on woot of someone saying they had unlocked theirs from dell, but haven't seen any definitive proof yet.

but i have a 7900GT that overclocks like mad and has hdcp/vivo, so im happy.

A 7900GS is like a 7800GT, with faster core and memory clock. 450/1320 compared to 400/1000.
