Hell, I just ordered one myself. Just a tad slower than a 7900GT but over $100 cheaper? No problemo! 6800GS is going up for sale very soon!

These are 20 Pipe Cards, same specs as the 7800 GT in Pipeline configuration but faster due to better clockspeeds, slot in between 7800 GT and 7800 GTX. I would say at least 10% faster then the 7800 GT, and maybe 25-30% faster then the 7600 GT minimum. The parentheses, are just the number of pipes a full G71 core would have compare to this one. The pipes are likely laser locked like the 7800 GT.

I wait for the review before all of you started to buy it and found it be not as good as you may think... i do hope it can beat a 7800GT 🙁

Reading the woot forum and doing some research on it, it's pretty much a consensus that it is at least on par with a 7800gt, if not marginally better most of the time.

Well, it technically has to beat a 7800GT. Same pipes, higher clocks on core and much higher on mem. It's a 100% white box special. No cables whatsoever, no CD's and probably no DVI adapters, which means you have to have at least one of your own, and a PCI-e power cable adapter if your PSU doesn't already have one.

This makes me sad, because it'll be gone well before I can afford to buy one. 🙁

edit: borrowed some scratch from my mother ( 😛 ) and picked one up in exchange for rebuilding her computer

$156.95 to my door, damned taxes.

I'm running two barely (never) used 7800GT cards in SLI. Would it make sense to sell them and buy these? I know I don't have much time for these questions but I'm broke and if I can make even a little back from the 7800GT cards I need to. 🙂 Judging mby the HSF, I don't see how it can have higher clocks with the same configuration.

It's running on a cooler process than the 7800GT, which is why it can afford tyo have a smaller HSF. It also might be a good idea to sell your SLI setup and buy these. You'd walk away from the deal with some leftover money in your pocket and a 5-10% faster setup that should have a good ability to overclock if you so chose.

I'm extremely tempted to pick one of these up to play with. Heck, if it overclocks half as well as the 7900GT, I might wind up replacing my X1900AIW...that I've only had for two weeks 😛

$140!

Way lower price than Nvidia has suggested.

How does this compare to a 7800gt?

Hi All,
I have a sort of stupid ?. If you buy two of these cards, will they come with the connector you need to run them in sli.
If not is the connecter able to be bought ,if so is the price reasonable and is it pretty easy to find
thanks for all and any help

Normally it would come with your motherboard, but you can order them for $15-20. Horribly overpriced for what they are, but what can you do...

Looks like woot is sold out, hopefully my 7600GT will perform well enough on ebay to make this a cheap (hopefully free) transition.

Hey estew33, an SLI connector never comes with the video card. You are given one when you buy an SLI motherboard. However, the connectors themselves are very easy to find online for sale, and are usually $15 or less.

Thanks. I hope my brother has some room on his credit card for these and a couple PCIE power adapters.

They do not include the conector. The connector is able to be bought. You PSU may be a weak link though. I would have to buy the connectors but my TurboCool 510 wont be a problem.

Keep in mind that the purpose of the connector is to keep any other devices off the wires going to the video card because the card draws more than the 6amp or whatever it is that is the maximum per connector. You can't connect any other devices to the same wires even if there are unused connectors.

I don't know if its got 24 pipe or not... if it does its an amazing deal. if its just 20 its proabably a bit faster than a 7800GT.

Either way thats pretty good price.

I'm a bit confused by the numbers in the parenthesis. What do they mean?

exactly. Its either 20 pipe card or a 24 pipe card I don't know. Thats how they have it listed.

It is a 24 pipe GPU(exact same chip as the 7900GT) with 4 pipes and vertex shader disabled. If we are lucky it will be like the 6800nu and the pipes can maybe be unlocked. It has a higher stock clockspeed than the regular 7900GT, so should perform almost the same or slightly slower. The 7900GT will probably be gone "soon" and the 7950GT will replace it at the $300ish spot.

sold out.
I got only 1. I was going back to get another one and now they are gone. 🙁
Anyone with 3 want to part with 1 🙂 or 2 for that fact my friend is asking to buy mine as I type this. my 6800 ultra was on par with his 800xl, but now I got him. lol

Well, I guess it's good for me that they sold out. I really can't afford to put anything else on the old charge card at the moment...been doing that too much this past month. Plus I'd wind up sticking the NV card at HQ with all ops forced off, which means I'd have to overclock to put myself on par with my X1900AIW, so probably not worth the hassle.

Still one heck of a price though...$145 for low high-end performance is some serious business.

I have two 7900 GS cards coming also a Asus A8N SLI Deluxe. I may decide to sell the setup. If interested let me know
Ed
Almost forgot the price will be 365 shipped
