Just ran it for the first time at regular settings (1024 x 768, 4xAA) and got these results:

Low: 32 High: 110

Avg.: 89

Not sure of the average, but that was one of the numbers on the display. I'll run it again at max settings.

At max settings (1920 x 1200, 4xAA) I got these results:

Low: 3 High: 65

Avg: 23

Maybe someone could copy the benchmark.bat text from the old version here ?

Google is my friend ... :D

Copy the TechDemo.bat file and rename it to whatever you want (IE: benchmark.bat)

Edit the file so it reads ...

start Bin32\TechDemo.exe -benchmark %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9

then Run the benchmark.bat

It creates a file called benchmark1.txt

Heres my results ...

just benched it....

basic rig config 3800+, 2gigs, 7800GTX@ (495/1300)

on high quality at 1024x760 i got highest fps of 105 and lowest 46. i tried at 1600x1200 as well just to see how this stresses my card. highest was 67 and lowest was 31.
would have tried at 1900x1600 if i had a larger monitor ;)

i add "-benchmark" without the quotes to the end of my shortcut and it will give the avg fps text but i can't change settings that way.

the 7800 has impressive numbers.... but it not AGP

I'm holding off until 520 results ... then I may or may not be going PCI-E

I didn't create an SLI profile, so I assume that these numbers are from a single card.

...you can bench at different resolutions by editing the system.cfg file. Just change the r_Height and the r_Width values, and disregard the notice at the beginning of the file :)

x80064: Out of curiousity, what are you changing between runs? You have about a 10% increase...

Well, the only real thing I done, was went to msconfig and turned off some startup items. In task manager, turn off my Panda antivirus, firewall, and a few other things. I had 34 items running in the background. My second run is after I turned them off....the 3rd run was just for the fun of it, and it went a little higher still. Now those runs are at stock speeds of 475-900. I had it overclocked before up to 574 core and 1140 memory. Dont think I want to try it with The Project though. But all in all, that is all I did.

This is a very impressive Tech-Demo... Ever since the CryEngine was made public (like 4 years ago) I have been in full support, knowing full well that these German Developers will have one of the best gaming engines in the world. I would easily say that the CryEngine is superior to the Doom3/HL2 engine. The outdoor evironments that the CryEngine can produce are simply incredable.

With that said, the game looks cartoonish for some reason, I mean, more so than other games. It is hard to explain... The graphics are incredable, yet more cartoonish than most other FPS...

Good tech demo, thanks for posting the link.

I'll have to run it again to do an actual benchmark but from using the live FPS counter "i" key:

1024x768 2aa: low: 60fps high: 120fps avg 80-100fps

1680x1050 2aa: low 29 high 60/65 avg... hard to say, some scenes steady 30 for awhile, some scenes steady 50-54 for awhile....

Note:

Remember that big FEAR debate ?

Well note that even this demo runs roughly twice as fast as FEAR does at the same resolution, and in FEAR's case there was no AA...

Note, while some parts were impressive (graphics of the creature's vision) and the character models looked good, I bet with more work they could have made a far more graphically impressive vid for the level of stress it requires...

ie, Lost Coast will likely look way, way better and run 1.5x + as fast IMO

7800GT, AMD64 @ 2550MHz.

Very odd thing was the water didn't show up at all (it was black), so I don't know what was wrong there, and I don't have FC the game to see if the same happens.
