What does dual link DVI give you over single link?

The ability to run higher resolutions over DVI, basically. Most people don't need it, but it's a nice thing to have anyways. :)

Single-link DVI goes up to around 1920x1200 I believe (just enough for the 23-24" LCD's, full 1080p HDTV, etc.). Dual-link is needed for the Apple 30" Cinema display (2560x1600 resolution).

Exactly. I can now finally look at getting Apple's 30" LCD. 2560x1600 sweetness! Now let's see if the new 7800 can keep up at that res. I don't even need AA. It would be nice if I could use a little AA (2x-4x), but I could do without it at that res.:)

I assume the monitor has poor response times for gaming?...More of a graphic designer, work monitor?

You would need SLI to game at those resolutions...dual 7800 Ultra's I'm thinkin. :p

and dual link doesnt work properly with SLI, bug.

No way I'm not buyin the Mwave bull$hit

Regardless that I'm not gonna buy a high end gpu till I see what R520 will offer.

Anyone who does that is either a retarded fanboy or a rich person that wants both solutions

**edit sued oops sorry didn't see that

Nope, it's not bad. 16ms.

Not necessarily. If you can do 1600x1200 with 4X AA, 2560x1600 with no AA should be attainable. We'll see how the 7800 performs in a few days though. :)

Wow, only 600 dollars?

Granted I have the money...but...getting a new mobo and maybe even a new PSU? Just gives me more of an excuse to wait for the R520.

We have no information from either Nvidia or ATi on whether they will be producing AGP variants of next generation parts. What are people basing all these conclusions on?

I don't have the link, but it has been stated that Ati and nVidia will prodcue the high end cards in AGP..

It's would be finacial suicide if they don't produce them...
