What was more surprising is that people who got the new coverage were generally happy with the product. Overall, 73 percent of people who bought health plans and 87 percent of those who signed up for Medicaid said they were somewhat or very satisfied with their new health insurance. Seventy-four percent of newly insured Republicans liked their plans. Even 77 percent of people who had insurance before — including members of the much-publicized group whose plans got canceled last year — were happy with their new coverage.

Not sure why this is a surprise. Polling always showed people liked the parts of Obamacare that involved them getting stuff. They just didn't like the parts that involved paying for it.

I'm satisfied with mine. My deductible went up a thousand bucks and I lost a couple (marginal) hospitals from the system, but I don't consider that to be too high a price to help insure all the uninsurable. It's certainly better than I expected half a year ago.

I got tri-care, union sponsored comprehensive retirement supplemental and the wifey's got us a family plan from her employer. My kids are in school and covered until age twenty six.

Wrong. By definition those paying a penalty do not have an Obamacare plan, and so will not be counted.

At least I can understand the moral attempt to insure as many as possible. I just think that the goal could be better accomplished. I don't think it will do much to reduce costs, but I hope it helps more than it hurts.

I realize it's a touchy subject for all the nay-sayers & doom predictors, all the Repub politicians who set out to make it into Obama's Waterloo.

Reduce costs? It's forcing everyone to buy a product, and even making those who already had the product buy a "better" version of the same product. I am not sure what economics class would try and teach that forcing people to buy a product is not increasing demand and therefore increasing price.
