And what makes you think only one side is capable of starting gun violence? Having a gun doesn't address poverty, but it gives you a tool with which to lash out. So why do you think this tool wouldn't be used for that when it is so much better suited to be used in that offensive capacity than any sort of defense?
Despite what conservatards think, carrying a gun does not provide a magical shield against bullets. Ask Keith Ratliff, Chris Kyle, and Chad Littlefield just how much better they are for offense than defense.
Because only murderous or insane douchebags are capable of starting gun violence, and the vast majority of people are not murderous or insane douchebags.
Why are you so scared of people? Why do you think everyone is going to lash out violently? Have you been a victim of these rare occurrences or perhaps perpetrated them yourself?
And no one thinks this.
