You've probably ran into a memory limit (aka a wall) with only 2GB. AFAIK, you should have 4GB minimum for SMP and GPU folding. Otherwise you would experience such a hit, that you have described.

My current SMP WU is only using about 100MB, so I don't think 2GB is a problem.

Thanks for the stats PB.

I seem to be having some issues with my main folder. It's an 1035T based X6 with a GTS450 (both running at stock), with 2GB RAM (used to have 4, but 1 dimm seems to have gone bad, but I didn't think the RAM would be an issue). I am running the V7 client on 64-bit win7, and seem to be getting very low output. From what I see in the V7 client info, I should be putting out around 12-14K a day with the CPU and the GPU folding 24/7 (7-8K on the 450, and another 6-7K on the CPU). Instead, I only seem to be doing about 5K a day total. I should be getting more than that with the GPU alone. Any suggestions? TIA.

Was it folding alright before? Check your task manager and see if your cpu is running at 100%. My 1090T was folding SMP's fine at 100% cpu and at some point it downloaded a core_A4 (I think) and I found that my cpu cycles went down to ~17%. I believe you want a core_A3 currently for SMP's. Also, have you tried running -smp 5? That will usually free up 1 core for your gpu allowing for max points. Admittedly, I'm not sure how to enter that command on V7 however.

Thanks Peter!

have most people upgraded to the v7 client or still on 6.3? I was trying to get FAHmon to play nicely with the v7 client but no luck.

I'm still on 6.34 for the smp. My PPD stinks on it when I actually us my computer for anything. I keep telling myself I am going to give the v7 a shot, and then never do.

Thanks Peter!

Fahmon doesn't seem to like my v7 client either - I am running a mix. I am using v7 on my AMD GPU based folder since it just worked out of the box and evidently there was tinkering to be done with older GPU versions.

Thanks Peter!

Are you in for the race? If so, let me know - I'll write down the points and PPD as of today for you.

Thanks for responding (sketchy as well). I have noticed that my cpu has been working on some A4 core stuff, but CPU usage is always up near max. Maybe its just that the A4 projects are slow. I'll have to experiment with the -smp 5 if I can figure out how to do it. Right now, I have my CPU set to 90% max usage, in order to leave some cycles for the GPU, so perhaps that combo is not very PPD-effective either.

Here are the 1st week's stats:

FAH-HSR-Dec7-2011.JPG

This looks very nice! More than a million point/day in average. 🙂
During the week end I'll look at the stats more in detail and will see if the teams need to be restructured for a more close race.

You've been on my radar and closing the gap for some time. I can see that things are getting serious. 😱

Pretty sure I'm now top 10 in the team for current production rate and the lowest ranked (total points) for anyone getting over 20k ppd. My own stats tracker has you as being in a crowded field of folders getting around 25k ppd. Think Uppsala9496 will be snapping at your heels well before me though. He'll overtake your points total around the turn of the year whereas, assuming 25k for box #2, it'll take me 10 days longer than him, if my calculations are correct 🙂

Speaking of stats sheets... Thanks once again to petrusbroder for the stats 🙂 are you using a script to pull in the figures at all? I've got an Excel macro that does the processing for me, but I still have to go to the F@H website and copy all first. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work with 2 button presses so be great if I could cut them out!

Yep, using the stats tracker over at extremeoverclocking.com, at this rate Uppsala is 2.6 weeks from passing me and you are 4.9 months. Your hefty addition later this week ought to decrease that quite a bit. Supposing I can pull it off, I may have a little surprise of my own though. :sneaky:

Thanks for the stats PB and crunch on team! 😎

This would displease me. It's going to turn into a cold war thing where we're both forced to pull in more and more machines to fold for us and keep one step ahead of the competition. If the cold war teaches us anything, it's that one of us will go bankrupt in the process. I better start finding a 2nd job somehow... 😉

If it makes you feel any better brownstone, you'll have overtaken mgpaulus, LetsGoPreds, SilverSurfer042677, Hurricane_Andrew, annton_htpc, Shebnay and dajeepster by the time Uppsala9496 gets you 🙂

Why did I open my big mouth?

lol, I wonder if my wife would be on board if I mention that she needs to get another job to support my folding habits? Her response = 🙄

Slightly better, but I still have that feeling like I'm being hunted. It's no fun being the prey.

x4 970BE or x6 1055T. That is the question. Would be a minimal OC if any at all since the case has beyond garbage cooling.

This is all hypothetical of course.
