>>Abuse of it is just gonna make it go away that much faster. Abuse uhh I mean maximize it while you can.
Abuse? If it is their policy, how does that constitute abuse? I call it USE. My guess is that AMEX will kill this within a year whether or not you USE it or not. It is simply an ill-founded policy. If you believe that it will go on forever, you are mistaken. The question is how long will it last. This program makes no sense from a business standpoint unless it was started with the belief that like rebates, people would not participate. The people who jump on the "X will ruin it for all the others" are naive. This is capitalism baby, work the system or get worked over by the system.
The program, IF logical and business savvy, will live a long life. If not, it will not. Think about this, I am at my yearly limit of $1000 already. Amex has paid me $1000 for what? For using their card. What is my interest paid to date? less than $50. There was a NY times article on this program and how much money it lost this year. It is a poor policy. It is anti-capitalist to say that one should not push this policy to its limits. I guess I see this forum differently. I see it as a way for the early adopters and people on the ball to make out. I really don't share the "spread the wealth evenly and thoroughly" mindset. Its dog eat dog for me. That's what makes a strong market.
