Didn't Nvidia state that the 6800's would be in retail by now? They paper launch before ATI, bash ATI with a "Leak" of an internal presentation, and then don't even have a shipping product. What's the deal?

I would think that even if they couldn't mass produce the cores they would at least get what they have out to the market.

wouldnt doubt it, that core should be a pretty difficult to fab...it is a complex chip.

6800U (available soon) = $500
6800GT (no release date set, but probably out in the next month) = $400
6800NU (available soon) = $300

Did you preorder one? Would you buy one today if it was available?

So would'nt the 6800U and 6800 be released at the same time due to the 6800 being more plentifull due to higher yeilds (I would think due to lower pipe count) than the 6800U?

No and No. My 9800 Pro is plenty fine for the time being. When I do look to purchase a new card, I will take an objective look at what is available and decide at that time.

CompUSA lists it as having 15-pin VGA connector.
I thought the 6800U came with dual DVI, or it it CompUSA being crap?

rbV5 that is vapor at $610 I tried already. Plus they do not return phone calls to even try to seal the deal. Yes I would pay that much right now. That includes both cards. What ever I can get first. :)

You are right that is a crazy price to pay. There is one thing that I do not do anymore though. That is I do not claim loyalty to one chip or another. I have been down that road already with 3dfx! Enuff said on that. :)

I thought that the troubles producing 6800's had to do with the XT's not the Ultra, non-ultra, GT. Gainward and others are having troubles making them. Also isn't that high price for the 6800's selling in Japan? The new Sony Blu-Ray DVD players costs 3200 dollars over there.
