Can anyone fine X800 pros at Best Buy? Says in stock online, but every location in Houston shows it as not available 🙁

A lot of times when it says available for store pickup, the item can be "customer fulfilled" and delivered to the store for pickup or your house after you place the order in-store.

I'll have to go in and ask about that and then try to price match and use a 10% off cupon that I got in the mail today (good Jan 7-10) That would put it at ~259 before tax if I did my math right, wich I might have messed up on the 110% bit.

I believe X800XL will be PCI-E only, which is really stupid because 95% of people are still using AGP

To the OP, great find... Interesting how normally the price on these is still very near MSRP but most of the retailers regularly have sales. I smell a conspiracy... 😀

Me too. I just got a email saying my VisionTek X800 XT has been shipped and they gave me my FedEx tracking number. Good price along with good service. It's the first time I have ordered from Microcenter and I must say I am very pleased. Thanks again.

Ditto that. Mine will be here tomorrow 🙂

Picked an X800 Pro up at Houston MicroCenter today. If you go, this card along with the 6800s are held in the back somewhere, they are not on display with the other video cards.

This is not true the pipes can be unlocked, and they arent a bitch to close again because rivatuner is a software mod.

Maybe you should try some research before stating something, look at this poll:

The entire forum is full of succesful 6800 unlock stories. Here's the specific ones to stay away from:

I hate it when people state something as true without doing the research. I have an evga 6800nu and have unlocked all pipes and vertex shaders. Evga is one of the best 6800 cards you can buy because it can OC awesome on stock fan.

Not to mention that evga has the step up program, where you can upgrade your card.

Also the 6800GT in general has GDDR3 memory like the 6800 ultra. With a bit of experimenting and tweaking you can turn the 6800GT into an ultra, b/c a GT is just an underclocked ultra.

have you any knowledge on the cooling of the GT? would the silencer make since if oc'ing or for the noise?

Hey everyone, I don't really want to spend so much money, i looked through the other video cards for sale at microcenter and i saw this...

Xtasy 9600 256MB DDR 8x AGP Video Card
It is $119.99
It also has a $30 rebate.

Is this not a good card, as no one has mentioned it?

My little brother needs a video card for Counterstrike:Source, i want to get him an upgrade from the geforce 440mx, but i don't know if it'll be worth it to spend $230 for the 6800. Any input would be appreciated...

🙂

Just went to the store and asked, and they said that if it says unavailable online that they can't get it in store. Screws best buy for price match on the x800s as you can only get it from online and they don't price match according to the website.

For you PCI-e guys, when you buy this card just use the step up program to get PCI-e. they "should" have the same MSRP, im not too sure because they say to call on the evga website.

Well I did do some research before I spoke. But apparently, not enough. Sorry if I offended or mislead anyone, but several big sites I read said the 6800 couldn't be unlocked in any practical sense, due to the artifact problem. And I'm not the only one in this thread to have stated that, so that word is apparently out there, not something I just decided to blurt out.

I have the eVGA, and mine does not OC well at all. Glad you're experience has been better than mine.

I went a head and picked one up. I walked into the Cambridge, MA store and there they were. Priced as advertised. They had 6 of the GTs left, about 10 of the plain vanillas, and a whopping 16 of the Ultras!

FarCry does NOT come with this card. Just a few demos, a software DVD Player, and the base drivers.

Just picked up a 6800 for $240 and also a DFI LanParty UT NF3 for $100. Most of their motherboards are also 20% off right now.
FYI this was in the Santa Clara, CA. store and they had plenty of the video cards in stock.

If this was a Leadtek then resistence would be futile but since its not a Leadtek I think I can hold out figuring I just bought a 6800NU...
