Im gonna get the car washed. Then I'm gonna go watch Fox News and let them tell me global warming is made up by liberals and communists to put hard working Americans out of jobs.

Calling in from the finger lakes, 63 here. Feels like late APR/early SEP.

I recall spending the week after Labor day up there every year as a kid (Blue Mountain Lake) and it would be seriously cold every night even then!

Can also recall that where I grew up in Northern Westchester County NY we didn't always have a white Christmas BUT by around now the ground was frozen like granite as were all the lakes and ponds every winter.

As a side, the ski industry in the eastern states is doomed. 😕

64 here in Michigan with 25 mpg winds. Totes normal.
That's pretty much what we had yesterday up here in Northern IL, winds are still at like 20mph today but temp has dropped back down to 40 or so.

I keep telling myself I'm going to buy some cross country skis when we have a winter with good snow but I don't think that's going to happen anymore, might as well just buy them now and drive up into WI to use them before it's too late.

63 today here. Will stay in the high 50's tonight. Good for tonight's excursion to the city to see some art and get good eats.

Thanks CO2!

Yeah, when I moved to Michigan I was expecting brutal winters and tons of snow. Instead, it's just lots of wind, floods, droughts, and mild temperatures.

Yea, it was 65F here yesterday by the IL/WI border on 12/15.
It didnt cool down below 65F until after midnight!

There was constant 30+ mph wind with gusts of 60-65mph all night.

Yeah growing up seemed like we would have snow on the ground most of the winter, now it always seems to warm up after it snows and everything melts.

I think I live in the same general area as you, had a ton of branches down from the wind yesterday/last night in our yard luckily nothing fell on our cars though.

If I drag out the hoses I have to blast them with the air compressor and put the bastards back in my giant rubbermaid bin.
Too lazy for all that.

Just got home and it's a warm 72 degrees in my place with the heat turned off. Just opened up all the windows. Happy climate change everybody!

The city still had that classic holiday vibe with the Union Square Christmas market and lights on various streets. Quite nice. There was a food stand there selling BeaverTails, Canada's flat donut? Are they just fucking around with some corporate creation or is that legit Canadian? Probably corporate is my guess

Tornado(s) with wind speeds up to 192 mph, it was reported tonight over the past few days. 😵

You know, it boggles my mind. Air is invisible, but it can have such devastating consequences when it's whipped up to high velocities.

I've seen video of the tsunami that hit Japan a few years ago and seem beyond imaginable.

I think they said a tornado yesterday in Minnesota was the first ever there in December.

We've had two atmospheric rivers here in the Bay Area this season that have tired me out. I had a lake form next to my house last night at midnight. 20 minutes before there wasn't even a puddle. I pumped the water from the lake to the street, took ~50 minutes, using a 1/4 hp pump. I'm tired.
