Tornado(s) with wind speeds up to 192 mph, it was reported tonight over the past few days. o_O

You know, it boggles my mind. Air is invisible, but it can have such devastating consequences when it's whipped up to high velocities.

I've seen video of the tsunami that hit Japan a few years ago and seem beyond imaginable.

I think they said a tornado yesterday in Minnesota was the first ever there in December.

We've had two atmospheric rivers here in the Bay Area this season that have tired me out. I had a lake form next to my house last night at midnight. 20 minutes before there wasn't even a puddle. I pumped the water from the lake to the street, took ~50 minutes, using a 1/4 hp pump. I'm tired.
Dude. That's crazy. At least your home is safe. Hope you can rest today and recuperate.

I slept with a window open last night. Windows still open today. It's a week from Christmas

Just got home and it's a warm 72 degrees in my place with the heat turned off. Just opened up all the windows. Happy climate change everybody!

The city still had that classic holiday vibe with the Union Square Christmas market and lights on various streets. Quite nice. There was a food stand there selling BeaverTails, Canada's flat donut? Are they just fucking around with some corporate creation or is that legit Canadian? Probably corporate is my guess

It's a Quebec company. I guess it is considered Canadian. My kids love them.

Even Fox News viewers know that weather and climate aren't the same thing.

It's actually been cooler than usual here in New England this fall. Some people here might tell you that it's good crypto mining weather!

Looking over the last several years, '15 had very warm days in December, warmer than this year so far. Then '16 had very cold days, much colder than normal.

Yea, but 2015 is well within the 'shit times'. Fact is it's overall warmer than it has been historically, and it's pissing me off. I suffer through summer with the promise of decent weather in fall, and I'm getting fucked out of decent weather. Fall comes later, and winter becomes a week or two, sometimes a couple days at a time. In MD, fall has been lasting longer into spring than it did in the past, but that's the free McDonalds ice cream cone coupon consolation prize.

^^ Go back and look at the temps for some areas in the late 30s and early 40s. Some of them are still the high records.

Sure, individual days, but the overall trend is getting hotter. I've made my money outside since 1987, and that's where I have most of my fun. I'm pretty tuned into what the weather's doing over longish periods of time.

^^ You're getting older and less able to handle the heat and humidity. I can't handle 75 degrees for more than a couple of hours any more when I used to be able to be outside all day in 85.

Seems the trend has been warmer for the past 10-20 years. I noticed we get way less snow too, and more rain in times that were normally completely abnormal for it to be that hot. Yeah there was always the oddball day but it's at a point where it happens way more now.

We are actually getting a more "normal" winter snow wise this year though, except for that weird weather we had a few days ago where it was super warm and rainy, made a huge mess and a good foot or two of snow melted.
