I got mine at newegg for $335 with instant promo code not too long ago. I hope the 7700k is slower than the 6700k so I won't regret my retail purchase price of a one year old component. I heard stock clocks is at 3.6 with boost to 4.0 but I don't remember the performance.

Pretty sure there was a promo code about two weeks ago that brought it down to $329, it didn't last long though. Saw it one evening, was gone the next morning.
There's no way a 7700K will be slower than a 6700K.
This site claims it is in fact going to be 3.6GHz and turbo to 4.2GHz and yes its Kabylake..

So 6700K is only MSRP now while I enjoyed my 4790K for almost 2 years already? I think I got the better deal.

Don't worry, Kabylake will be along shortly to jack the price back up :awe:
Nice article. No wonder Intel's sales are down. They don't care about the customers any more. Only about pushing their "segmentation".
