Well we know now how they will bridge the long wait to Zen4 on AM5 Q4 2022.
Production start for V-cache is end this year so too early for Zen4 so this is certainly coming to AM4.

Most youtube leak and review sites are like recepie videos and web pages: you hear about everything else in the world but what you want so they can keep you running the video/on the page as long as possible to get maximum stats and monetization from you.

Karen, I don't care how long you've had a love affair of cooking and about your Na-na's special pots, I just want to know how you managed to make your baked macaroni and cheese not taste like generic cheese mush with burnt tips!

This is why I'll always prefer text over audio and video, much more suitable to skipping all that filler stuff. Just give me the list of ingredients and few short pointers what to do with them, that's all I need for my recipes (I can look up more myself if I really need to), thank you very much.
 
I usually "watch" video reviews by having them on in the background while doing something else. I suspect a lot of people consume YouTube media in this way. I can't do that with a written review in quite the same way.

If I'm giving a review my full attention then I prefer a text layout. Much easier to skip around and get to exactly what I want.

I am not sure how it works, whether these are discounts or rebates.

I am curious what happens with 5800x3d is released, if there is going to be realignment of official MSRPs for all Zen 3 processors...

Considering the price of the 5950x has been consistently dropping the last 2 months, SOMETHING is going on, MSRP or not. All I care is what I pay for it. $620 for a 5950x ? Insane. And $480 for a 5900x ? But older gen is doing OK, I just sold a 3900x for $378 !

Issue here is you can't use MicroCenter as your base price. That is not available to everyone something like using amazon.com would be a better option and there it is priced at $349 which makes it a $50 increase if that price is right.
 
Using Microcenter price or not, the competition for the 5800X3D isn't the 12900K, it's the 12700K, which has a price much closer to $400. So while the 5800X3D is allegedly faster than the 12900K (which is only a few percent faster than the 12700K), it likely can't compete in productivity benchmarks unless the app can take advantage of the extra cache. I think a price of $449 is appropriate for the 5800X3D. Maybe $499 tops since someone will pay that much, but I personally don't think that price is enticing at all. AMD would have my attention at $400, they'd lose it at $500.
 
$480 for the 5900x still feels a little pricey for my blood. If it hits $449 though, its very likely to trigger my son and I to do a processor swap where I buy his 2700x and he uses that to offset his upgrade.

I don't have a Microcenter anywhere close to me, however, if I needed a 5950x now, I could definitely get it for well under $700. Microcenter has been a bit uncompetitive as of late with regards to parts due to lack of inventory.

Also for those of you unfamiliar with Microcenter, they are a godsend for PC parts in the US. The issue is they are only available in some areas.

If AMD allow zen 3 support on X370 and B350 boards the 5800X3D even at $500 could be very attractive because there are no other upgrade costs for many people meaning it could work out cheaper than a similar performing alternative where you need new CPU and motherboard.
 
It really depends on why AMD are releasing this CPU, and how many the can produce and at what cost. Is it mostly to retain gaming crown and annoy Intel, then it can have a relatively high price. Do they want to disrupt sales figures of both 12700k and 12900k, then it will have to be priced lower.
