This explains the prevalence of the word in question, but not many people realize that. These are the same people that defend its use with not logical reasoning.
that makes no sense. it is a derogatory word. why do they want to be reminded of it? i am sure there are more pleasant words in their culture that they can remember.
That's the thing. It is difficult to understand out of its cultural context.
It's one of the most painful atrricutes of their culture, and to refute the gravity of its hate, they have chosen it to mean "comrade"
They have fought back by changing its defnition into something good. That is why they don't want anyone using it..because of its symbolism.
Still, most of its msot galliant proponents are the dumbest ones of all.
