60 Minutes Bush Iraq Story

I don't watch American news... but I was under the impression that 60 minutes was just as biased as any other news source... why would they speak out? What did they say?

I usually watch it for a laugh, but I was somewhat surprised by tonights 60 minutes.

To sum it up, they've provided specific examples of where the Bush, both Jr and Senior, have lied outright about Iraq (babies left out of incubators to die, aluminum tubes smuggled into Iraq used for nuclear devices, meetings between al Qa'ida and Iraqi officials - all lies aimed to create hatred against Iraq and push for war). It also told how advertising firms where hired to pull off these deceptions.

Though I must admit, I'm not sure what their motivation was for this. They're usually pretty anti-arab, anti-Iraq.

CBS is on the liberal side, IE, anti Bush.

The 12000 page document that Iraq just released will describe those aluminum tubes, as they are a dual use item. It sounds like this article was one sided, which is not surprising for cbs.

The lie about the babies being taken from incubators and left to die did not come from Bush Sr. or Jr. You might want to edit that out.

Wow! It's as if all the other reports ABC, CNN, FOX & NBC ran previously on this same subject hadnt ever been ran at all! Anyone with common sense and a subpar interest in world events wouldve known this months ago. By and large ABC ran a very thorough report on what the Iraq invasion is really about - Oil. And they did so by going in depth and showing all the backroom deals which were made far in advance - dividing up Iraqs resources with the different oil companies, and how they used this as a bargaining chip to garner Russian and French alliances for the coalition. In effect they outright told the Russkies and Frogs that they are either on board, or they can count themselves out of getting any oil from the "new" oil companies who will be drilling after the invasion.

Ted Koppel hosted it and it was about an hour and a half long.

All the major networks are guilty of "liberal" bias, but that hasn't stopped their love feast with the Bush administration.

They were the ones that went around spreading the lie, and there's little doubt they knew it was a lie.

They are not liberal?

He's obviously more liberal than you, no?

To me, they are autoritarian right wing on everything, without reason, without taste, except for tha fact they want our guns from us and charitarise every hunter as some serial killer hillbilly.

The thing is the other stations don't claim to be, "Fair and balanced news" or a "No spin Zone."

Well compared to CNN I find fox news to be more fair and balanced. There is no denying fox has a conservative spin, but I do find their news shows much better balanced than the competition.
