When I was younger I had no problem with paying $60 or more for games. I remember the initial batch of Genesis games were all $60 and Phantasy Star 2 was around $80 and Phantasy Star 4 was $99. SNES games were no better with Street Fighter 2 Turbo around $75 and Final Fantasy 3 around $70. When I was in college I regularly imported Saturn games from Japan at $60-$100 range.
It's funny now that I can easily afford $60 games, I refuse to buy them. Part of it is that I guess I rarely game anymore. So I don't mind waiting for a sale or the price drop. Maybe I'm getting old.
