I just got back from my neighborhood 99cents Only Store (the large chain) and they had 6ft USB cables (A plug / B Plug) for 99cents as well as 6ft Printer cable (DB 25 male/centronics 36 male) for 99cents. Also picked up one of those retractable phone cords for laptop modem connection for a buck.

The USB cable seems to work fine with my CF card reader and connected my USB drive with no probs.

Another place to try for USB 2.0 cables is your local Target store clearance. Mine had several 6 ft ones from the Todd Oldham DormRoom brand for $2.48 yesterday. I think that the item number is 080 00 0531. UPC is 0 26616 15016 8. Just a heads-up in case you are going to be near a Target store.

I see the link is down for now. You can get 'em for $1.20 at Compgeeks. Not sure about the shipping for just cables. I ordered 15 of them when I ordered a case/pwrsupply for $25 some time ago. Shipping was like $10. They had to send 14 of them separately because some bozo sent just one. No extra shipping charge. I thought it was a good deal. i got my cables from this company. shipping at compgeeks is 6 bucks, so if you buy like 10 cables, it'll be the same as this deal. compgeeks also has 10ft extensions (A-A) just in case you want to lengthen. i read on another thread that microcenter had 3 meter usb cables for like 1. id search around before paying more than 5 bucks for a usb cable.
