Get the G35.

Edit-Actually, if you don't need a decent sized back seat I'd recommend the WRX-STi.

I really want somethign with some resemblance of luxury. WRX screams 20 year old kids who plays NFS every night.

And the G35 is just a pimped up Nissan, and is much more closely related than any Audi/VW in the US

Guys, please... most of you are really talking out of your a$$es and that ain't cool ... I'm all for expressing your own opinion ... but that ain't even an opinion. Anyways, I suggest you check 'em out yourself at the dealerships. From my own experience, I think that the Audi has a nice interior, but the G35 drives better. I don't like the manual transmission in the G35 though, I don't know, it just doesn't seem right. I would check them both out and maybe check the volvo S40 and Acura TL (and maybe the mercedes C class) out too.
My personal favorite is the Acura TL, I don't care what any of you say about the FWD, but everything in that car appeals to me, the engine is smooth, the sound system is amazing, the interior is very high grade, the seats are very comfortable, and it handles very decently.

Like I said, you have to check them out yourself and make your own decisions, go test drive them all.

I don't know about that. Maybe moreso the previous gen A4's which shared engines with VW and had about 60% common parts with the A4 under the skin.

At least the G35 rides on a different platform than any FWD Nissan vehicle.

Anywhoo...As a current VW owner, I'd probably not purchase a second. My Passat has been flawless with just shy of 80,000 miles on the ODO, but recent quality issues would steer me away from a second purchase.

I'd consider the G35 or the Legacy GT over the A4 if I were in the market for a sedan.

quattro saved my ass when i lost control on the highway started weaving left and right goin 70mph, but was able to regain control. 🙂

G35. It's a nobrainer. It's got the Atessa-ETS AWD system from the Skyline GTR, and bulletproof reliability. Resale is good as well. Audi does have better interior and snob appeal though.

Now that the winter is coming I'm considering trading in my C class for one of the above. Any experiences with either? Any other cars I should consider in the same price range?

I'd go G35 anyday than A4 and its small ass civic-sized interior.

what the hell are you taking about?

<-drives a b5 a4

wow.... google 350z and get back to me please

i would *think* Quattro is far superior than G35's awd system; but again, my thoughts are much influenced by Audi's extensive marketing and brand image.

Well the g35 may be an exception (haven't driven one), but I've never felt that attention for detail in any previous infiniti vehicle, and certainly no nissan vehicle. Most don't ride all that well, even the ones with decent power. I like the look and specs of the g35. The a4 has gotten more reliable recently.

Audi has been known for their all wheel drive system for a long time. But I'm sure either will do well with the proper tires.

I would consider a Legacy GT. IMO the new Legacy looks awesome (not ricy like the WRX) and Subaru makes a great AWD system.

I wouldn't want Audi's bad reliability and upkeep costs

G35's just don't appeal to me, although the coupe isn't that bad

Personally, I would go with a Subaru

Well, seeing as how the car is nothing more than a rebadged Nissan, I'd say just about 100% of the car is Nissan 🙂 It's a Japanese Nissan Skyline, and as far as I know, every part of that car (save for some interior pieces which may be "Infiniti" exclusive) are all Nissan manufactured. Even an A4 is far more differentiated from any other VW

A4.

I've driven a A6 2.7T numerous times, and test drove the G35. Out of those two the A6 felt a lot better, so if the A4 is anything like the A6 I would take it over the G35.

You realy need to consider the Audi S4
Anyway the the a4 is better than the g35 it just has better feeling when you are driving it

An S4 is over $10,000 more expensive than a base A4 or a G35.
