so depending on what the IPC (considering its x86 compliant, and it is running windows xp, unless its being emulated), you cant really determine how it performs against current day processors .. i haven?t totally read through it .. but i would imagine they are either playing with numbers, or it just doesn't perform very well per Ghz.

I will agree IPC x frequency = performance.
It looks like some sort of Optical hybrid processor.
If so then I would like to see them become a chip fab instead of attempting to make thier own. Imagine 6ghz Opterons? Especially quad core opterons no less next year.
But I still think it is BS and that the 6.8ghz is probably the optical interconnects and nothing more. Which brings it near a few of todays's cpu interconnects.
