My GF2 MX SDR runs it "very fast" too but since "very fast" is subjective, who cares?

Most high end video cards CAN EASILY play the game on VERY HIGH settings. It's just a matter of what resolution they do it at. Playing with that setting at 10x7 is a piece of cake, my 9500 does it with low AA and AF enabled and 50+ FPS.

Sheesh "mynewrigissick" you shouldn't flame people for their choice of video card in general, but you especially shouldn't do it when your own card isn't exactly cutting edge.

There are games my four year old's 5800U runs faster than your 5900XT, would you like it if he came on here and posted:

nfwehfuiE FIHJRNFUINU oejskfihuy fgmgurhbyf54dre! Kmn ciu3hn dsnfuwHF!

(translation: "Meh. My 5800U is faster at many games and settings than your 5900XT, due to it's much higher fillrate. Want benches?")

Except it doesn't. It runs a reduced precision path which lacks IQ and also currently it has colour banding problems. And even then it's still a lot slower than a 9700 Pro, a card which can barely run Far Cry at acceptable levels.

I believe the 1.2 patch is going to fix the issues you speak of BFG. I've noticed no banding.

1.2 fixes the colour banding but the NV3x sries still has lighting issues because of their reduced precision SM 1.x path.

Obviously your card is immune to this because it runs SM 2.0 or 3.0.

One other thing is that what player "A" might think is an acceptable frame rate, player "B" might totally disagree. My brother-in-law sets his settings, such as Far Cry, to high for my prefrences. To me it looks choppy and unplayable. To him it runs just fine. Playable frame rates is so subjective to each individual.

I have no problems running the game at 1600X1200 with no AA or AF
Hahaha, at like 20 fps?

True, but in general 30 fps seems to be the standard in console gaming.

You are an interesting person mynewrig. I've seen you post about most video cards on the planet and how you're going to buy them.

I was only trying to say it's bad to insult other people's lesser card when you have a 5900XT because:
1. it's impolite
2. everyone with a 5900NU, 5900U, 9700P, 9800P, 9800XT, X800, X800XT, 6800, 6800GT,6800U, 6800UE can retort "Why don't you get a better video card?!"

Besides all this, coming on here to brag about the 5900XTs Far Cry performance is kind of pointless, we all know that Far Cry performance is one of very few places 5900XT performance is lacking.

Well, I actually looked at some benchmarks, and you're right, that card is pretty decent, if the 5800u were 256 bit that thing would SCREAM :)
