$55 too much for a flashlight

OS

Lifer

i bought a innova flashlight today from target, the cashier was like, why is that flashlight so much, it better be made out of gold.

she did have a point, but i got it anyways. I'm probably sort of crazy, i spent $150 on a pocket knife a couple weeks ago.

After you use it for a while, you'll see that it's worth it, just like a good knife can be. Yeah, there's a premium to having it rather than $1 Wal*Mart knife, but it's nice using a nicer product that will last a lot longer.

I bought a Fenix L1D CE for $50, I use it all the time at work and at home. It's the perfect size and only uses 1AA battery. I've used a cheap mini mag at work but the batteries and bulbs kept dying every other day and it wasn't bright enough half the time.

I got my Fenix P1D CE for $70. it is hella bright...

I bought an Inova XO a few years ago.. so far it's been dropped a lot, submerged a lot, thrown once in anger.. thrown once by accident.. and it's just as bright as ever.. It was worth the $40 I paid for it.

You got ripped off. Any flashlight from target is gonna suck.

You're wrong.

1. Inova flashlights are very well-built flashlights.
2. The River Rock brand flashlights they sell at Target have gotten praise over at candlepowerforums for being inexpensive, good quality flashlights
3. The Brinkman Maxfire LX that they sell at Target is almost an exact replica of the Surefire G2 for half the price.

Target sells better flashlights than almost any other B&M store.

 The cheaper ones last as long too.
As a Google employee, I feel you should know that there is a small calculator tool in the search engine. 55 minus 48 will yield a result of $7.

Unfortunately, there isn't a feature for common sense, but most people usually have at least a small amount. If you had a little, you'd see that it's not that big of a price difference.

Edit: I'm not a Google employee, but pcslookout apparently claims that he was just given a job offer from them, and it doesn't make sense at all. I was referring to him being the google employee.

You think that $55 is expensive?

Do a search for SureFire flashlights. They are $150 for small lights and $300+ for larger lights.

Agreed, although Fry's has a pretty good selection too, but on a nationwide scale, it's amazing the level of quality you can get from flashlights at Target.

I almost bought the P1D CE but it uses those expensive CR123A batteries and it doesn't have a push button on/off switch. I've seen how bright that is on high mode and its crazy how those little CREE LEDs put out so much light.

Inova makes some great lights but they all use CR123A batteries and you can't use rechargables without the possibility of damaging the digital circuits. I had the XO3 with the Tiros lens and it was extremly bright but only lasted for about an hour.

I nearly went to a Fry's when I was in Dallas once, but it was too late - they were closed. 🙁 I did get to drive by and laugh at all the guys camping out for the PS3 though.

Wish we had them here.
