Must be tough paying out more in taxes then i make a year. I dont know how you go on. /wrist slit.
This.
Wow, you ARE an asshole. Amazing what money does to people.
Why does that make me an asshole? Do you know how much I had to sacrifice in order to get where I am today? I see people all around me refusing to work while going to college, refusing to work more than one job, etc. We are products of our choices. You don't agree?
He's just saying quit whining.

Without the bottom 99%, you wouldn't be in the top 1%.
Imagine working that hard and making $35k a year. You work hard and your biggest worry is how much to put into your IRA to reduce your payable taxes. Others work hard and worry if they can feed their kids.
Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the military make up VAST majority of the federal budget. Welfare is a drop in the bucket and most people can't get more than a year of food stamps because of welfare reform.
If you want to yell at someone in frustration, go to a nursing home.
Took me all of a minute.more lulz you wasted your time to "dig up" this post. Go work for Soros you'd do great.

I wasn't whining...
As for your other post, I agree to a certain extent. I'm thinking the tax cuts to those with influence and large companies need to go. There is no reason why a company that takes in billions should be getting multi-million dollar government refunds.
SS, medicare/aid isn't welfare? lulz

Meh. Then they aren't working smart. Or they didn't prioritize money and try to attend college. Or shouldn't have had kids. Or should've made different choices in life.
You might make a little more money if you had any sort of reading comprehension.
I'm not sore about paying taxes. What I am saying is that life isn't that much different for me and you, even though I'm in the top 1%. I don't have the opulent lifestyle that the news reports. Yes, I have quite a bit in savings and generally nice things. I don't live paycheck to paycheck (although I have other worries, such as how to continue being profitable in IT) and not having to worry about money is nice. I have retirement, which a lot of Americans don't have (mostly due to the fact that we, as a nation, spend every goddamn penny we get keeping up with the Jones's)...
But I do not consider myself rich. I don't throw money away. I don't have a yacht, or a Ferrari, or a 10,000 square foot house... that was my point. Saying the top 1% are evil and then pointing at the CEOs of Exxon and the like is similar saying "The top 50%" are evil and then pointing to the CEOs of Exxon and the like...
Its not so much that they are individual accounts that you're putting a small amount each paycheck until you retire. They are both insurance programs. And by the looks of it, the baby boomers will be taking out more than they put in.Depends on how you look at it.
Most people call SS an "entitlement" these days with the implication that it's some dirty word.
Guess what? I've been paying into that goddamned system my whole life and you're darned right I feel entitled to getting out of it what's been promised. The same with medicare.

I hope you do. I've been paying for 30 years and have 20 more to go. But I have VERY little hope.Guess what? I've been paying into that goddamned system my whole life and you're darned right I feel entitled to getting out of it what's been promised. The same with medicare.
I think the idea behind medicaid and welfare/food stamps is noble and necessary for a civil society, but their implementation has led to those systems being totally abused to the point where the programs are twisted abominations of their original selves.
What about those teachers you had growing up? You know, many of those who had the same level of education as you but who make far less money? As much as I agree with the basic premise behind your message, you need to come down off your high horse.
I comprehended just fine thanks. My point is you paid into taxes more then my pre-tax income even is. I also paid into taxes just like you did. I get by just fine in life on my salary. So if i extrapolate that into your salary i would have no worries as you do. You just listed like 5 things that i have to struggle to get and you dont have to worry about. You look for ways to not be taxed on your income and i look for extra ways just to contribute more then 6% into 401k.
So as i said. Cry me a river.
But i do agree most are probably confusing the .001% with 1% but now that you know that. Dont worry about itMust be tough being a 1%'er.
Bahahahaha! I was homeschooled, fool. And not for religious reasons, but because our school system was a joke. When I reached high school my parents asked if I wanted to go back to school or homeschool and work. I chose homeschool + work cause I had plenty of friends in public school who hated it and were as dumb as a bag full of ATOTers
Some people choose professions that give them different benefits than others. Someone who chooses teaching or social work KNOWS before going into it what type of money they will make. In return they do something that makes them feel good, gives them summers off (teachers) as well as retirement...
And I don't know many teachers with an MSE...sorry.
