500W Earthwatts Sufficient for Oced 4870 and E8400?

I've looked through some of the threads and it appears that my EA500W PSU would be sufficient for an HD 4870 and E8400 at stock clocks. It barely meets the 12V line amp recommendation (500W has 34A, ATI recommends 32A). My concern is that a heavily overclocked 4870 and E8400 will be too much for the PSU. I'm considering the OCZ 1000W ProXStream deal for $89.99. It's more than enough PSU for my needs but at the price it seems like a good deal and, if I need a new PSU, I might as well jump on it. What do you guys think?

Should be fine. Try it out. If you find out the psu is lacking, upgrade it.

I thought about doing that but if the PSU is operating at say 80% or higher of peak capacity than the problem might not manifest itself until the PSU quits. If the PSU is way below capacity than I should experience problems right off the bat and that would be fairly easy to diagnose. Just hate to find out a couple months down the road that the PSU is dead and has no resale value.

You can lock this mod. I've decided to go a different route with my hardware and the thread is no longer relevant unless other members want it.
