As far as I can tell, none of the sources in that article are scientific journals. There's one letter from a university, which doesn't even make a specific claim. Otherwise, it's a bunch of newspaper articles. There are certainly people who catastrophize climate change, but unless the predictions are appearing in scientific journals they don't matter. I'm sure you can find people making pretty ridiculous claims about almost anything if you looks hard enough. The important question is 'what are the experts saying?'

The prediction was that the Arctic would be ice FREE......ice FREE by now . Is it ice free now? Yes or no?

Ice melting world wide?

CEI is an climate change denial think tank. I don't think you should be putting much stock in them, unless you're specifically attempting to verify your own feelings.

Hint: You can find someone that agrees with just about anything on the internet, doesn't make it true. We're smack dab in the middle of an extinction level event, and in Vegas, the house would be on civilization collapsing. If you wish to continue burying your head in the sand, feel free to. Don't expect to convince anyone else to join you, though.
Are the predictions in the CEI piece accurate or not? Simple yes or no is fine.

This happens every summer in Greenland, always has.

Oops
Remember that viral sled-on-water picture showing "our ongoing climate catastrophe" (CNN)?
Turns out it is entirely normal, happened in the 1800s, will probably happen *less* with higher temps
But Al Gore wants permission to use it in his slideshowhttps://www.berlingske.dk/samfund/spring-in-greenland-interpreted-as-climate-change-this-is-completely …

Did climate scientists fuck your mother or something? What's your big investment in 'checkmate, science!'?
It's something i've been interested in since Sen. Wirth sabotaged a Senate hearing in 1988 that lead to Hansen and Global Warming becoming such a political issue. It's not about science, it's about politics, money and control.

Nah it goes well beyond that, every fucking post anyone makes in this forum regarding anything to do with climate science has you and your little testicles rolling in here like 'NUH UH i found this link to a site on the internet that proves that everyone's a liar!'. Why do you have such an overt reaction to people smarter than you saying something?

So given it's an existential crisis and @Paratus said it won't cost us any money, what's your theory behind why we're not doing it? Even if you believe in the U.S. that Republicans are evil sith lords and just opposing all efforts because they want to see people die, why is pretty much every other country not embarking on Manhattan Project level efforts to stop climate change? Just too busy?

Its funny watching you preemptively try to head off one of the main reasons for inaction in this country. Its as if you know exactly how shitty the politicians you support are.

I simply said that was Greenland.

Although now that you bring it up did you know the number of sled dogs have decreased by half? Let’s see why:

Many reasons for falling sled dog populations
There are many reasons for the dramatic decline in Greenland’s sled dog population, says Meldgaard.

He names four in particular.

1. Sea ice is melting due to global warming of the atmosphere and the ocean currents that flow along the coast of Greenland. This stops local people from venturing out on the ice to hunt and fish and therefore fewer sled dogs are needed.

2. Snowmobiles are out-competing sled dogs. Unlike dogs, snowmobiles do not need to be raised or fed.

3. Dog food prices are increasing because industrial fish waste that was once used as dog food is now exported for human consumption. Dog owners now have to purchase more expensive food from shops.

4. Sled dogs are exposed to infectious diseases. As a result, the Government of Greenland has decided to invest ten million Danish kroner over the next three years to fund a vaccination program.

Damn another adaption required by climate change.

Bullshit. Some of the science is accurate and undisputed, other things are bullshit such as the sled dog picture in Greenland. The hysterical alarmist predictions that are shown in this article capture that part of the bullshit accurately. Hansen made a number of predictions that have proven wildly inaccurate. "parts of New York under water"

So who the fuck cares what rando articles from the last 30 fucking years states? Why do you insist on sliding in on your diarrhea soaked wave of garbage articles from garbage sources attempting to 'disprove' established climate science? As to your statement, guess what, NY is building a fucking 5-mile long wall specifically to prevent flooding on Staten island due to sea level rise? But i'm sure that's alarmist, right?

Climate change is happening, it's here, and it's gonna fuck some shit up unless steps are taken. That's as much as should have to be stated to make people concerned, so what's your fucking deal? Why do you care more about random talking heads than what's actually happening? I don't see you chasing down counter articles to every retarded thing Trump says and sprinkling them through here like you're making cookies.

"Sea Level Rise May Reactivate Growth of Some Reef Islands
Reconstruction of reef island formation in the Maldives suggests the possibility that not all islands will shrink as climate change progresses."

For those who don’t know what Slow is referring to, he’s likely grabbed this talking point almost verbatim from the climate science “skeptics” blog Watt’s Up With That.

The story references an unattributed prediction about the Maldives being under water in 30 years.

The Maladives are still here so ha ha.
(Underlying conclusion insinuated is inexact prediction from unnamed source is “wrong” so all mainstream climate science over the last 30 years can’t be trusted)
Image1603_shadow.png

Now back in reality the Maldives have spent the last 30 years spending on adaption and are still having flooding issues exacerbated by sea level rise.
