hello,
i am in need of some advice.
i currently uses the epox 4g4a+ 845G chipset motherboard
i have a 1.6 p4 OC'ed to 133x16 stock cooling
420WATT PSU
i purchased corsair XMS 512mg PC2700 DDR, i was using pc2100 crucial 256mg
after the upgrade, all worked fine.. i then continued to OC the FSB higher and the ram higher.. but i stupidly forgot to increase vcore and vdimm for stability. Now after this bios save and reboot.. this system will not post.. my monitor stays black and it makes beeping noises. The 4g4a+ manual says if overclock fail.. press the 'insert' button on reboot and it will go back to old bios settings. i tried this and it will not work.. now i cant get back into bios to lower FSB and DDR speeds to make it post. what can i do?? i am in desperate need of help as i need this system for a project. im sure there has to be a way to get back into the system (bios) to change settings to make it work. will there be permanent damage?
i was thinking of flashing the bios to revert to old bios settings. will this work??? (remember, i cant even get to post or get the monitor to display anything) it just keeps making the horrid beeping sounds whenever i power up. please help an OC gone wrong!
thanks..
