Yeah, I saw that too but you need to disable UAC and windows defender.

Plus, they guy doesn't provide the source code which I don't like...

I think the only thing needed is to disable driver signing. I'm using Win 7 64-bit and I don't need to disable Windows Defender. UAC I disable anyway so I'm not sure about that.

In fact here's a review of the toxic and the ASUS TOP has no problem beating it.

Throw in PhysX, CUDA, Ambient Occlusion, better image quality, better drivers, you should be very happy with the upgrade.

First two are false, and drivers are fairly subjective. If you don't play PhysX games or F@H, then the first two don't matter. We could get into another DX10.1 vs. PhysX, but thats already been killed on these boards.

Sorry, but money IS an object, you can get 2 4890s for $300, that IS the best deal

It appears that someone wants to post his opinions of Nvidia's supposed supperior features as if they are facts and ignore certain features AMD provides that you cannot get on Nvidia cards to start another stupid AMD vs. Nvidia thread that goes on forever. Some things never change.

OP, if you aren't happy with the 4890, and don't care about spending more money for a GTX285 and Physx, then why not? Seeing as you can get two 4890's for about the price of one GTX285 these days I would think that would be 'the' buy for a high end gaming system that doesn't break the bank, but if you really feeling you are missing out of Physx and just don't like the AMD drivers, then try out a GTX285. Good luck whatever you choose, though I do think if you don't mind spending some time tweaking it sounds like you can have most of the issues resolved. Either way I can't see truely being unhappy with a GTX285 or 4890 personally. :)

Nvidia does not have better image quality, this has been proven time and again; ATI has had and continues to have better quality.

Personally I'd go for the 4890 CF setup instead of a single 285. If you do get an EVGA GTX 285 buy an SSC or FTW version unless you feel like getting out the soldering iron to bridge a couple of gaps on the vanilla(what I did). SSC's and FTW cards come from the factory @ ~ 1.24vgpu...all this depends on how high you want to overclock though. Lately I've been running a single 285...just got tired of all the multi-gpu issues/flaws...granted that was coming from a pair of 295's... I have also owned a 4870X2 and a pair of 4850's. I had almost no problems from the 4850's @ 950MHz (vmod/water) but the X2 was another story... If $$ doesn't matter and you like playing GTA IV on the pc I'd pick up an EVGA GTX 285 2GB FTW. :) Not sure if any of that made sense... Bring on DX11!!

I just swapped out my GTX 275's for Toxic 4890's. First thing I noticed was the difference in image quality. Was not expecting it, but it was a noticable difference.
