Agreed. An X2 4800 should be called an X2 4000, since it's two A64 4000's on one core. It's also faster than a 3.6 Ghz P4, assuming the P4 isn't overclocked, or isn't overclocked much.Originally posted by: Dark Cupcake

For dual core the model names are generaly marketing... but yes the 4800+ will beat the crap out of a p4 3.6ghz.

Actually I'm pretty sure 4800+ means it performs in theory, on average, like a 4.8ghz P4 would. And by this I mean that the ideal multithreaded scenario would be say, something like a 7ghz single core (2x4000+, but really 4800+ is 2.2 not 2.4ghz) P4, but since that doesn't always happen, they go with 4800+
