Can you install these on multiple computers?

"Software included in TechNet Plus Subscriptions is provided with rights to evaluate. Licensed users may install included content on any number of devices for evaluation purposes only. Only the licensed subscriber may use the included products. Please see the product use rights or license terms for TechNet Plus Subscriptions for more details."

Any number of devices sounds like unlimited to me.

I've downloaded a lot of ISOs since getting it, but the one apps I've installed have been Office 2007 Enterprise Edition and Visio 2007 Pro. Both activated without issue.

I plan on giving Svr 2008 a whirl once I make room on my Drive with all of my VMware disks.

I've been checking this thread daily for two weeks hoping the deal would die so I wouldn't be further tempted to buy this. :p

I couldn't take it anymore, too good of a deal to pass up.

Do the software licenses/keys expire when the one year subscription does or are they pretty much good forever?

YES - that was the answer from the $99 TechNet deal a few months ago. The licenses are good forever, but you just won't be able to download anything from the Technet site after the subscription expires.

Even a complete reinstall of Vista is good after the year?

Yeah, that's kind of my question too--what happens when I upgrade my box or do a complete rebuild two years from now, once my subscription has expired? Does the software I've downloaded still activate just fine? If so, just download everything and you're set.

Could someone be kind enough to clarify this for me?

I'm too lazy to look but it's been said before. You are paying for the license key, you download it, it's yours to evaulate as long as you would like. You just won't have access to download it after your subscrip runs out.

Good, thanks for the info. I just found it myself.

Microsoft software licensed for evaluation purposes. Evaluate full-version commercial products without time limits or feature limits, including Microsoft operating systems, servers, and Office System software. With full-version software, you can make informed decisions about new technologies and deployments at your own pace.

Beta software. Receive pre-release versions of Microsoft operating systems, servers and business applications

Also, I just got my subscription activation e-mail, but for some reason it hasn't went through their system and I keep getting the error:

Unrecognized Subscription Data
The data that you have provided could not be located in our system

I just got off the phone with tech support and they said it may take another day or two, arrrrrgh, the wait. Anyone else have this happen?

They should really fix this...

The email shoud state that will take up to another 24-48 hours for the subscription to be completed. They are eating a lot of $$ on uneeded support calls.

Do they not have call Metrics.... Is it being tracked incorrectly... oh well not my money

Version of Vista that is only available via Software Assurance - little benefits over Business. It is like the difference between Premium and Ultimate.

From MS

Windows Vista Enterprise is the premium edition of Windows Vista for businesses and is available exclusively to Microsoft Software Assurance customers. It helps global organizations and businesses that have complex IT infrastructures lower IT costs, reduce risk, and stay connected. Windows Vista Enterprise includes all the features in Windows Vista Business as well as extra capabilities designed to help reduce the cost and complexity of deploying and managing corporate computers. In addition, Windows Vista Enterprise provides easier application management, improved standardization for global operations, and higher levels of data protection for a growing, mobile workforce. With Windows Vista Enterprise, your employees can find information faster and use it better.

Thanks

One more question

Why is Vista Home Basic and Home Premium not included in this deal?

Because TechNet is designed for the IT professional to evaluate software prior to deployment in their organization. Most businesses wouldn't be running home versions of operating systems. Another product that isn't included in TechNet is Windows Home Server.
