I've jumped on the egg bandwagon. For many years, I've made great scrambled eggs.

I went to the grocery today, thinking to buy eggs, which are priced close to $10 a dozen -- probably because of some bird flu problem in the supply chain. Returning home, I realized I already had a dozen eggs, but then I remembered! I was going to hard-boil several and save the rest for morning scrambles!

"But then I remembered" -- probably just a brain-fart and not a dementia brain-fart . . .

Eggs are great but not $10/dozen great.

Get out and enjoy the scenery because you are paying a premium for your location.

I'm out of touch with grocery store prices. I was shocked to see aldi bargain basement commodity eggs were ~$3.80/dz. The farm I get my eggs at has always been slightly on the high side. A good bit more expensive than commodity eggs, but a bit cheaper than deluxe eggs. They're now the cheap option. $3.50/dz or $10/3dz. They're the highest quality, but sizes vary a bit per container. They range from lg-xl+

I just paid $18.69 for 5 dozen at Costco. A few months ago it was right at $10 for the same amount.

The trick seems to be minimizing dietary saturated fat which prevents cholesterol from being broken down in liver.
No, the trick is to treat everything that the Daily Mail tells you as bullshit until proven otherwise.

Other than that, if you want to amuse yourself by keeping abreast of their progress to classify every known substance in the universe as either a cure or cause of cancer, feel free.

1) I said "until proven otherwise"

and

2) I don't put an awful lot of stock in that study, no. Correlations without even a vague hypothesis of a causal relationship are like graphs identifying rising levels in crime with bread consumption.

But let's say that there is a scientifically proven causal relationship between egg consumption and Alzheimer's disease. You change your diet accordingly. One day, you have a stroke and end up with vascular dementia (basically the same symptoms as Alzheimer's, just a different cause). Are you still going to think that you dodged a bullet with all your egg consumption? Maybe egg consumption *encourages* vascular dementia?

Reporting that study as actual news to the layman is pointless and irresponsible. Such a study represents a *maybe beginning* of figuring out the real-world cause of Alzheimer's disease, or maybe it's yet another red herring. Such information should be brought to the public's attention when getting the public to modify their lifestyle is actually going to make a positive difference, as opposed to the Daily Mail's regular merry-go-round of bullshit which actually decreases public faith in medical science.

I was going to make some hard-boiled eggs, and went to the grocery to pick up an extra dozen. (So our inventory today is 2 dozen eggs). Price has shot up to above $9 / dozen! Somehow, I thought this had something to do with news about bird flu . . .

Project for the day: hard-boil a dozen eggs.

Killed off the first 30 pack I mentioned above. Not sure how long the other 30 pack will last.

Can only hope for another such deal, cuz I ain't'a payin' $6 or more for a dozen.

I hate the yellow color of the yolk

I prefer organ meat (liver, pancreas, brain, shanks, blood etc.)

Hannibal Lecter was eating FBI brains on the airplane at the end of the "Hannibal" sequel, and a little Chinese boy strapped in an adjacent seat showed curiosity, so Hannibal says "My mother told me always to try new things . . . "
