01/18/02 - Time for a new thread boys and girls...the old one is too dang big....Sorry for the double threads..just let the old one drop!

Updates: We've managed to take the lead...although a small one...a lead nonetheless! :)

But..

They are a very big team, and could leash out at us at any time...so we need every member that would like to join....

Help us defeat DSLR.....show them the AnandTech pride and spirit...WE WILL WIN (With your help)! :)

DSLR now has two big guns....they have the power of about 700 PC's between them...and the potential for more... the only way to overcome them is to have more members that make the difference..and we can't even claim that...as they have almost 300 more members than we do...1662 vs 1949....so that's why we need your help.

Please read the posts below and help..You'll find a great group of TeAm members and a great forum in the DC forum to make friends and have fun...come on..join up and let the fun begin! :D We look forward to welcoming YOU to the TeAm! :D

DSLR has their big producer back (about the power of 700 PC's or so)...and he's helping them pull away. Can the AnandTech faithful...with all the members...and all the PC's let this happen.....

Hello all.....

It's that time again....we have been challenged to a new race with DSL Team Starfire...

The last race was a great growing experience for both teams but was ended just short of completion because of the sad day of September 11th.

Since then though, team DSL Starfire has outgrown and outproduced us considerably.....now it's our turn!!! :Q:Q:Q

A new race has started and we need your support.....all it takes is a few extra cpu cycles...just a few. The clients use spare CPU cycles in the search for signals and other signs from space for intelligent life or anomolies. They are easy to use, have little (mostly NO) impact on your system (even in benchmarks) and also help science too :)

Come on over to the DC forum and see what TeAm AnandTech is all about...you'll be glad you did!!! :D

Not only do we have the opportunity to stomp DSLR, but we need your help to catch the French forum team. They added a member who has over 13,000 WUs which more than offset the amount we have cut into their lead!!!

Join the TeAm help us stomp DSLR and catch the French! :D

Let me guess, DC metro area? The snow is nice.
Now to put in my 2 cents: these SETI threads don't belong in the hot deals forum. I didn't complain the first five times that I saw these threads, but it's getting a little old. Obviously the mods are looking the other way.

We have made a lot of advances this month, thanks to all the great new Anandtech members that have joined the team.

We have moved up from the #15 team in the world past IBM, Microsoft, Intel and The Planetary Society to 11th place in the world.

We now have more active members, those who have completed at least one work unit in the past week, than ever before.

We have a much deeper pool of members to help any others who are having trouble with their systems or their seti accounts or any other things they ask about in the DC forum.

If you haven't checked us out yet please do come by and try us out. I know you wont regret it!

BTW we are ahead of DSLR in the race, come help us in our decisive victory!

what the heck happened to them, it hink 1 of 2 things are happening:

1. They got the plug pulled on a server farm they had running at work....
or

2. They are stockpiling up work units so we relax and then they will dump them on us later and catch us off guard...

commdogg, Bandai lost a good portion of his SERVER farm (Bad for SETI in general :(...good for us :D )...so they're regrouping, I think...although Bandai did mention he had some 50 PC's left...but hasn't dumped in several days now....:Q

DSLR gained 4 new members with over 5000 WU's today....not effective on the RACE, but moves them one step closer to us in the overall race...

We need more members to counteract this...we need YOU!

They are growing faster than us again....so the lead could slip away quickly...

Okay, I tried to join a few days ago. Three computers here in this house doing nothing most of the day. I followed the instructions and could absolutely no way get registered. Maybe I'm just STUPID! Got pi$$ed and quit. So if someone would like to tell me how this works, I have three machines with Seti installed, just waiting to tell me how to pitch the effort in the right direction.
