And this, kids, is why you get your ass out of bed and register for next semester's classes by 7:00:10am when registration opens at 7am. Get it all ready to submit & submit as quickly as you can. Then, you don't end up with horrible schedules. If you're really, really good, you can sometimes manage hell days on Mon & Wed, with just some morning classes on Friday, and no classes on Tues and Thurs.

Went to an art college so the studio classes were alway 6 hours long. They were also required classes, so you had to take them at certain times and you had to build the rest of your schedule around it. The majority of LA classes were 1.5 to 3 hours long as well.

lol I have it so easy, class starts at 8:30am, the first half hour we review what we did last time, then the prof talks for about 30 minutes maybe 60 if we're unlucky, then we work on whatever assignments we get until 10:00am when we get a 30min break, afterwards we continue working until 12:00 (midday, I'm not sure if it's am or pm in the stupid 12 hour clock) when class ends.... we also take smoke breaks every 45ish minutes.

Most of my classes were scheduled 4 hours. Depending on the classes, some didn't last beyond 2.
Depending on the class & my interest, I'd stay 5 hours.
During my first 2 years all I did was ditch & party, and it showed in my grades.

some of my favorite classes were ~8 hour classes <3
field ecology and nonflowering plants
field ecology we basically were always out hiking learning about stuff, and doing somewhat mundane experiments in groups. fun stuff :D

nonflowering plants was taxing a lot of the time though and it was on saturday (splitting up the weekend sucked for me :( i like having 2 days off in a row), considering i didn't and still don't understand how to identify moss :( especially without microscopes and taxonomic keys, i mostly can only identify the really common stuff by the naked eye bryum and grimmia (to genus), and mostly based on the substrate, as well as a few species not normally found in southern california... most of the interesting stuff is in northern california T.T.
a lot of the earlier classes were spent in lab scrutinizing moss and it was almost torture hah.
the best part of this class was the 5 day field trip over spring break :D

food microbiology was a fun 4 hour class
didn't count for my major though (and i'd already finished general ed), but we got to make lots of interesting stuff, including beer, wine, cheese, various fermented vegetables, etc
the lectures were largely a rehash of microbiology though... so they were somewhat boring/uninformative for the most part

I took a 7 hour class saturday only and a 3.5 hour 4 days a week class (6PM-9:30PM). 7 hour was ok, it was an interesting course. The 3.5 hour was chemistry...I wanted to die.

Got a class that'll run six hours this monday; but it's at the prof's house and he's serving supper.
