The Abit uses both the ICH5R and a RAID chip(SImage I think). The GB only uses an extra GigaRAID chip. The ICH5R supports RAID 0 only, through Intel's IAA utility. The ICH5R is only like $3 cheaper than the ICH5, so it's sort of odd that everyone isn't using it.

That seems like an awful lot. I can understand being in the low 200s but not over that.

I dunno..I doubt itll be over $250 her in the US, once it gets here. although...maybe springdale, and Im assuming, will be much cheaper than canterwood. OH well, just have to wait and see.

I am not too familiar with Gigabyte mobos...so what is that DPS thing all about??? Do you plug you power supply into it?? Does the mobo come with something that plugs into that slot??

"Dual Power System (DPS): this is a separate, add-in card that gives the 8INXP 6-phase power circuitry instead of 3-phase. Gigabyte claims that, in Parallel mode (versus Backup mode), DPS is able to deliver better system stability (especially while overclocked) in addition to longer onboard components life. Skip to the BIOS and Overclocking section for our test results with DPS installed."

Gee, what a surprise, OCWorkBench broke NDA.

But look, it's dated the 14th! That will surely fool everyone.

hahah

Yeah, but it allows the site to claim that they were authoring the review for later release and it was either too quickly posted by their website guru or the version up there wasn't completely done with formatting. Shady, yes.

Still no word from Asus about a P4C800 Springdale version ? maybe a P4S800 ? Springdale chipset is what I'm interested in.

I have been eagerly awaiting mobo with the pci express bus. The canterwood with the 800MHz fsb will do nice till the pcix ever get retailed.
? What is the chance the canterwood chipsets will be on a mobo using the pci express bus, instead of the 1992 pci bus @ 33MHz on 32bit interface (ie. 132MB/s) ?

Jorken: That was what I was hoping as well...

Actually, couldn't you post it now? It's already 4/14/03 somewhere in the world now and this site is GLOBAL, not specific to specific time zones. The NDA might specify a specific timezone, but if it doesn't start posting the bencmarks!

All NDA's are tied to a specific time zone, in this case the East Coast, on April 14th.

Hi All,

Been following the posts here and finally joined.

Essential Computers in New York City is showing the AOPEN AX4C-Max and the P4 3,06/800 Mhz FSB cpu in stock. I've placed an order for both along with a twin pack of Corsair XMS Dual Channel PC3200 ram. Going to call tomorrow to verify it is in and pick it up.

Hopefully the web site is accurate and the items are in stock. Will post back tomorrow and let you all know how it progresses.

Hopefully this time tomorrow night I'll be in Canterwood heaven.
