Which video card drivers are you using. I hear the 10.80's are the best.

Actually the 11.00's give me about 300 3dmarks over the 10.80's, plus they fix some DVD problems that my GTS had with the 10.80's.

is the 10.xx and 11.xx stable enough?

hmmmmm, i got the newest drivers I *think* from nvida after recovering from literally a 11 time computer crash in about 10 days.

I'm not so sure i installed all of my mother board drivers actually, i recalled that after doing so usually my computer would stop working so I might not have installed them all. Any way I can check?

My computer just scored a 1624 on a default 3dMark2k run, way low I know. I remember getting about 4300-4500 before.
Any ideas?

BTW, this computer has given more hell than you could imagine

xtreme2k, I was using the 6.31's forever because I was afraid of stability issues, but the 11.00's are very stable for me and added significant performance in 3dmark2001 over 6.31's (also tried 6.50's). With the 6.50's, the high detail Dragothic test was very choppy, now it's very watchable.

I think the recommended way to update drivers is to go to add/remove programs and delete the driver. then change display adapter to standard vga. Then reboot. Now go to change adapter and proceed with installing new drivers. You really need to instal the 4 in 1 drivers for things to work properly.

Although I am a serious computer user I am still not comfitable using a 'beta' video driver. :(

Stability is still my top priority :)

OK, well I got the 11.00 drivers installed and ran 3dMark2k (not 2001). My old score of 1624 changed to 2526 which is good but I'm still 50% shy of where I'm supposed to be.

Does anyone know why I'm not getting the ~4300 score I should be?

<< My old score of 1624 changed to 2526 >>

Uhh... I get 2100 with my GEFORCE2 GTS, athlon 700 system. You get that with a REGULAR GEFORCE DDR! Hmmm?

<< Does anyone know why I'm not getting the ~4300 score I should be? >>

You're thinking about 3dmark 2000. A score for 2500 with a geforce ddr is damn good in 3dmark 2001!

I *am* talking about 3dMark2k!

I'm not gonna mess with 2001 cuz I can't bear to see the 2fps on most of the tests

did u install the appropriate AGP drivers?...

the K7V uses the KX133 right?...installed the 4-in-1's?...

i got just over 500 3dmarks before i installed my AMD AGP driver...now i get 2200 w/ the 6.50s, and probably around 2500 with the 1080s or 1100s...

actually, getting 500 3dmarks reminded me that i had forgotten to install my AGP driver after having just reinstalled my OS...
