3DMARK 2001

It was a beta from a while back. Don't have the final copy. Sorry but I can't give it out. But it is pretty cool.
 
I'll be watching it in 3 minutes and counting. 100-250kps is not too bad. I have two computers downloading it simultaneously.

Hints:

a) Do not bother going to MadOnion.com. Their site can't even handle regular traffic for non-3dmark stuff. It's been hammered all day long.

b) They are not sure about the release (4-6PM) since they need to "coordinate with mirrored download sites"

c) So what would your best bet be? They have to upload the file to all the sites or they've already done so. Go to a major site and run a search and voila, you guys will be the first to watch 3DMark2001. BTW, when I got there and started downloading it said "0 Downloads". I am the first in the nation (end user, at that particular site). WOOHOO!

If you guys still can't figure it out, I'll tell yah.
 
It looks amazing... but
It says my Radeon has no hardware support for pixel shaders and won't run the "nature" test and.. in the demo mode, the part with the grass and trees... there is no ground on most parts of the scene, just grass on a blue background!
 
Hey, I know it supports DirectX8.... but would i need to install it for optimal performance?... It's working fine with DirectX7 right now.. (other games i mean) ... and I don't want to mess it up if I don't have to.
 
Another thing, in the "statue" scene... I don't see a statue, just rain hitting an invisible object🙁

Same thing on mine. Don't you just love ATI cards *rolls eyes*
 
This is very sh*tty! I don't know how it's &quot;supposed&quot; to look but my lobby scene is entirely empty. I just hear gunshots.
 
i am downloading right now at a whopping 12.2 kbs and will let you know how my radeon fairs with it once i get it installed
 
Yeah. When I used to gripe and moan about ATI Radeon's DX8 support a while back, it was because of the problemss with 3D Mark 2001. I tried it again with my ATI Radeon but I overclocked it to much and it crashed and never bothered testing it again.
 
Well, I just ran through the test and the demo. It did not run the nature test or do the pixel shader test, but ran the demo flawlessly, including the part with the meadows and butterflies (which I assume is the nature demo). Anyways, I got 2624 on it with my Radeon DDR LE... check my sig for full system specs.

Do you guys know what the default settings are for this???? I did mine @1024X768 32 bit color.. compressed texture... double frame buffer.
 
The nature scene sucks. It is not smooth enough to look pretty, even on my Geforce 2 Pro that I had. I still think the statue scene and the Matrix scenes were the best looking ones.
