i envy your 40"
thanks
Just a 40"? PHuLEZ, I can fit over 4 of them on my gaming screen
i hear you, but a 720p projector is a bit much, plus my ht is in the master bedroom since our living room is a weird design - condo, so with a ceiling fan the projectors didn't really appeal to me, but yours does look good. for the room and the fact that i sit 10' from the screen 40" works out good - much better than the 55" rptv it replaced. just out of curiosity what projector do you run? how is the lamp life? what are the prices of the lamp? any ghosting with fast action? what resolution?
Well it is actually a Optoma H31, can be had for $399 right now AR, the screen is 100" for $59, and it replaced a Toshiba 65" CRT HD unit that broke, and even though this is a SD projector it looks as good, I swear better, then the HD Toshiba I had before it. All hd looks stunning though it, able to count the hairs on people heads, and how many zits are on their face. Lamp life is to last 3000 hours so if used 20~ hours a week it would take me 3 years to hit that which by that time I will be ready for another one, and could pick up last years model for around the same price as a bulb. Which means when this bulb has had it I will be able to get a HD projector very cheap new. When this PJ first came out about a year ago it was $2k, now its $400, bulb for it is $300, so yeah I would pay $100 more to go HD when the bulb pops
And even if I didnt buy another one and just bought a bulb, at $300, over 3 years is $100 a year, and for as much enjoyment as this gives us bringing a true HT like atmosphere in the house, and playing games on it with my family, like mario party, where your not squinting to find your character, but have a 2 foot mario, and countless other pluses for its size, it is well worth the lousy $100 a year bill for a stupid bulb. I used to think other wise till I got one, now I will never go back.
And there is nothing like having the option to go 300 inches if I had the screen to do so, right now at 100' it is the same size as 4 50" tv's. 2 stacked one on top the other side by side. And sorry, even though I have had it for over 6 months Im still excited about it, as you can tell by my reply
