Gee imagine that, Dems not only want to take your money when you die, but they want to take your vote as well.

Whoa.....wait a minute Sparky. First off, the article doesn't address a few key points.

1. Were any of the 4755 that voted in last November's election ALIVE at that time and have since died? We only have the Republican claim of this number.

2. Is the unnamed person that is responsible for this an elected/appointed/career official?
2a. If elected/appointed, what party is he associated with?

3. When did this person get the responsibility of notifying the counties?
3a. If he has always had it, is it documented?
3b. If he has always had it, who trained him so haphazardly as to not tell him this was part of the job??

There have been eronious claims from both sides of the aisle, as well as some legit ones. Let's wait a little while until there are enough facts out to decide which category this claim falls into.

First, it seems some people are assuming this abuse (if there is any) is all being done by Democrats. How can anyone know that? I'm certain, based on past performance, that much of this abuse is being perpetrated by Republicans (if in fact these names on the voters rolls actually turn out to be shills and not just people who passed away and were never purged from the rolls -- not to be confused with voters who are illegally removed from voter rolls in states like Florida by Repulican paid firms).

Second, abusing the system has become the Republican stock-in-trade for "winning" elections. Is it only wrong to abuse the system when you people assume Democrats are at fault and not Republicans? How can you ignore Republican cheating as you make reckless assumptions about Democrats?

Unverifiable electronic tabulation is why we need printed receipts for every voter.

Voting is a State Level function.

I have in my wallet RIGHT NOW both a valid State ID - a Drivers License
and a Voter Registration Card.

Every State I have ever lived in requires you to have these when you show up to vote at any election, 40+ years of voting.

I have never been asked to produce a Death Certificate.

Does this refer to the votes which the dearly departed cast, or does it refer to votes for Kerry?

so what do you call ballotless voting? no people abusing the system there! (sarcasm)

QFT, but the Dems will stonewall any attempt to implement it -- for obvious reasons.

Yeah, silly reasons like the Constitutionality of it.

It seems that the Constitution made it an inherent states' right and if there is a "real national ID and registration card" the fed has just overstepped it powers and intruded into something that they have not been explicitly granted the power to be involved in under the Constitution.

Generally speaking, voters must provide some kind of ID, even if it's just this month's utility bill. That varies state to state, yet the verifiable occurrence of this kind of voter fraud is vanishingly small, simply because it's too big a conspiracy for too little gain. In order for thousands of dead people to vote, literally hundreds or thousands of individuals have to commit fraud to accomplish that...

Better to simply control the way that votes are recorded, counted, tabulated thru manipulation of electronic voting systems- a very few people can change hundreds of thousands of votes either in advance, by manipulating the software, or after the fact, by manipulating the totals... something that only proprietary software can accomplish. That is, of course, the only kind currently in use in the US...

And who stonewalled verification of electronic votes? Who made it possible to alter the vote count with absolutely NO way of conducting a recount?
