DHS says that it doesn't appear to be terrorism, which is obvious, I think.

I think its either Global Warming or a faultily bridge.

How the fuck would global warming cause a bridge to colapse?
Seriously, take your tinfoil hat and go elsewhere, your bullshit isn't needed or wanted in this thread.

Heat expands stuff. This can cause a bridge to fall. If you don't believe me look it up.

Look asshat, temps around the world haven't increased more than a degree or two, that's not going to make a difference. MN has always been hot during the summer. Just shut up and go away.

I am not saying they have. Saying that its been hot for longer periods of times.

Yes it does, and cold contracts it. Congrats on passing high school physics.
So a hot day caused by global warming can cause a bridge in MN to colapse, but a fire from jet fuel and other random things can't cause the WTC to collapse.

You are so full of shit.
GTFO of here.

Glad to hear she is ok. I hope there wasn't a lot of people walking along the bridge at the time.

So the bridge was absolutely jam-packed with cars when it collapsed?

yeah, back to back traffic

fortunately, it was under construction so some of the lanes were closed, or it could have been worse

Jeez, I hope there arent too many injuries or fatalities from this disaster.

Ya know, everytime I cross a bridge going into NY or whatever, I ALWAYS think to myself, what if this thing just dropped out of nowhere.... How would I react? So sad to see it actually happened, and at a time with so much traffic crossing the bridge....

Wow. I lived in the apartment overlooking that bridge a year ago and I'm 2 weeks away from a move that would make that bridge my everyday commute. Hopefully traffic was minimized due to the construction.

What kind of water traffic passes beneath the bridge?

Wow, I just heard about this from my mother-in-law. She called to make sure me and the wife were OK, we drive on that bridge all the time.

Nice. MNDot actually made a report that there was cracking in the steel supports that should be monitored/fixed. That was a year ago.
I don't have much faith in MnDOT to anything correctly. :(

There are occasionally barges and there was one nearby, but so far I haven't heard anything about it being hit by the bridge. There was a freight train that got hit though.

I was wondering as the possible causes - tugboat/barge collision with supporting column?

Just reported that 1 has been confirmed dead. CNN is reporting through KARE11 in Minneapolis if anyone out of the area is interested in info

Yeah. I'm in one of the north suburbs (about 20 minutes north of that area), and it's thundering/raining pretty hard.

I think I may have been wrong about the barge nearby.... I thought I heard there was one nearby, but I think one of the stations had just mentioned the Mississippi is used for barge traffic.

the coefficient of thermal expansion is so small per degrees fahrenheit that the expansion due to increased ambient temperature is negligible. if one or two hundredths of an inch makes or breaks a bridge, then your bridge will probably collapse due to traffic rather than thermal stresses.

take your trolling shit elsewhere, you moron
