I'd heard they had a couple of "red cards" already, which apparently means a fatality. Hope I'm wrong, but that is what I heard on FOX news.

damn. hope there are no fatalities

I am worried about the cars that fell off the bridge when it was happening... if they went into the water or what ... if they were able to get out ok. If there are fatalities we may not hear about them until later 🙁

Nice. MNDot actually made a report that there was cracking in the steel supports that should be monitored/fixed. That was a year ago.

There were a few cars that fell into the water, a couple vehicles started on fire, but it sounds like a lot of the vehicles fell straight down. A lot of people were able to walk away with minimal injuries.

I think it could be caused by Global Warming as well because of all the heat.

Do you have anything better to do than be a total asshat? I know a lot of people who take that bridge. This isn't a time to push your moronic ideas.

Yeah, we're having problems calling out right now. I don't know if land lines work well or not at the moment, but using a cell to call into the city isn't working.

well, I guess Verizon is working... my bf can't get through with Sprint service.

I think a lot of communications lines run across bridges.

I am being serious because its possible. Heat expands stuff it could easily happen.

DHS says that it doesn't appear to be terrorism, which is obvious, I think.

I think its either Global Warming or a faultily bridge.

How the fuck would global warming cause a bridge to colapse?
Seriously, take your tinfoil hat and go elsewhere, your bullshit isn't needed or wanted in this thread.

Scary. my wife drives that on the way home from work. She got off early today and crossed it at about 5:30 PM. If she would have came home at her regular time she would have been on it when it collapsed!!! We are watching the news and freaking! So close, man , makes you think. Especially since she prgnant with our first. Counting our blessings and mourning the ones that didn't make it.

The bridge was packed bumper to bumper, but it was down to one lane (in each direction, I believe) so that does reduce the number of possible victims.

The phone lines aren't working because the rescue workers are using them. People are being asked to stay avoid calling the downtown area.

Heat expands stuff. This can cause a bridge to fall. If you don't believe me look it up.

Look asshat, temps around the world haven't increased more than a degree or two, that's not going to make a difference. MN has always been hot during the summer. Just shut up and go away.
