32 bit OS & 4 gig Ram what gives?

Seriously confused. 😕 I've been reading about the 2.something gigs RAM that 32 bit OS's can only see. Then on the Corsair site I read the following article http://www.corsairmemory.com/_...rformance_Analysis.pdf. In it, it states that...
"Due to differences in the way that 32 bit and 64 bit OS's work, 4GB of system memory is most efficiently used in conjunction with a 64 bit OS. Users with a 32 bit version of Windows will still be able to to access up to 3.5GB of available Memory, which is up to a 75% increase compared to 2GB."
Well I thought, that sounds great so I ordered in a pair of Dominators (PC8500) only to find out whilst eagerly tearing open the package that it clearly and loudly states (in the inside of the packaging!) That (I paraphrase) "...This product is only compatible with a 64 bit OS and that any use other than that will nullify the warranty"
So, on one hand they push for the use of 4GB and 32bit OS and on the other make it clear that they are incompatible. My question is this. Is it just that particular set of RAM that's incompatible or is it 2 x 2gigs in general?
Help really appreciated. 😀

I am running with a pair of 2gb Corsair modules with Vista 32. You don't see the full 4gb due to the 32bit OS but the system runs fine otherwise. I don't see why that memory would not be compatible with a 32bit os and void a warranty.

Neither, they just don't want to deal with the support calls from people crying about ordering 4G but only seeing ~3G.

Apparently the one who wrote this is not a tech guy. He has no idea what he is talking about at all.

Use 4G with 32bit or 64bit (if your CPU is 64bit) OS any way you like it.
