Seriously confused. I've been reading about the 2.something gigs RAM that 32 bit OS's can only see. Then on the Corsair site I read the following article http://www.corsairmemory.com/_...rformance_Analysis.pdf. In it, it states that...
"Due to differences in the way that 32 bit and 64 bit OS's work, 4GB of system memory is most efficiently used in conjunction with a 64 bit OS. Users with a 32 bit version of Windows will still be able to to access up to 3.5GB of available Memory, which is up to a 75% increase compared to 2GB."
Well I thought, that sounds great so I ordered in a pair of Dominators (PC8500) only to find out whilst eagerly tearing open the package that it clearly and loudly states (in the inside of the packaging!) That (I paraphrase) "...This product is only compatible with a 64 bit OS and that any use other than that will nullify the warranty"
So, on one hand they push for the use of 4GB and 32bit OS and on the other make it clear that they are incompatible. My question is this. Is it just that particular set of RAM that's incompatible or is it 2 x 2gigs in general?
Help really appreciated.
