$300 to straighten a girl's hair??

So my coworker was telling me about wanting to get her hair straightened, and said it would cost her $300 :Q She then went to a "cheaper" place and it was "only" $180.

Crazy.
 

the cheaper the cost, the quicker the hair gets frizzy or curly
100 bucks will probably get a couple of hours service in the straightening machine (or whatever it's called)
300 will probably get 6 or 8 hours

my sister in law had hers done about month ago, cost her 500 and took 10 hours -- it's still really straight and shiny

What type of hair does your sister in law have? Tight curls, loose girls, just wavy, etc?

I think flat irons will work but that's only a temporary solution. Salons have these huge machines for "Magic Straight Perms" or whatever it's called that's permanent.

my GF has naturally curly hair.. she has a hair straightener which she bought for like $80.. works wonders, and only takes about 15-20 mins to do a good job on the hair to get it straight.. tell her to look into that!!!

One of the attorneys here straightened her hair. Cost about 3k and it lasts 6-8 months perfectly straight. Her hair was very curly before.

japanese hair straightening system, sounds about the right price, $300 isn't bad if it's from a very repuitable place.<----- my sis is gonna get this done sometime this summer.

My sister got hers straightened for 400 i think, RIDICULOUS, all follow up's only 100 but still...christ..

I wonder how much it really cost them to perform straightening on your hair. I mean, the initial cost would be high, but after that, off electricity and the thing you put onto the hair, that's a lot of profit.
