caffeine does not make you throw up blood

it releases hormones in your body "fight-fight" response hormone, adrenaline.

It helps you stay focused and awake/alert.

Redbull = 80mg of coffee
Double expresso = 80mg of coffee

caffeine pill (U.S) = 100mg

Overdose? 800mg+

It stays in the body for about 5 hours and the effects are felt within 45mins. The body can become "adjusted" to caffeine.. meaning it can get used to it.

An OD is quite a bit more than 800 mg.
Yeah, the LD/50 is something like 10 grams.

There was a very amusing thread by a certain member of old who consumed 2 grams of caffeine over the course of an hour and his increasing stimulation was quite apparent in the progression of the thread.

One of the last posts was something like "Alright, I'm gonna go run around the block a few times now"
:laugh:

"Coffee (both caffeinated and decaffeinated), soft drinks, and fruit juices with citric acid increase stomach acid production. Although no studies have proven that any of these drinks contribute to ulcers, consuming more than three cups of coffee per day may increase susceptibility to H. pylori infection." from:

H. pylori infection has been linked to gastric and peptic ulcers, and that may be what the doctor was getting at.

I have had bleeding gastric ulcers and most definitely coffee aggrevated the condition.
