Good question, yes they're super great deals but they're very new and who knows if they'll make it to next summer?

I am considering getting another resellers account, this time with Cybrisk.com (just to test them out and host some other sites).

So far the best web hosts have been addaction.net and dathorn.com

I like addaction but they don't have what I need. I need ~6-750 megs of webspace. Right now, I'm with onefusion and they're great but i don't want to pay 14.95/month anymore. I suppose I could move some of the files to my dixiesys accounts but I'd have to worry about the traffic.
It's mainly for pictures I take with my digital camera.

You could pay $1.45 per month less and go with dathorn.com (not accepting new accounts for a few days) which would give you a RESELLERS account with 2GB/30GB, WHM, cPanel, SSH shell access, 2 personalized name servers, etc.

Excellent bang for your buck.

hmm not bad. Is dathorn more reliable. From what I've read on WHT and in this thread, it seems to be very good. Only thing Im afraid of is having my current webhost charge me for another month before I can open up an account with dathorn or whoever else I go with. I'm trying to avoid any downtime if possible.

If they weren't, do you think I'd host with them and pimp them in every web hosting thread? Nope. There have been a few hiccups but nothing major, if there are any issues instead of being in the dark we're always informed on their forums. My sites uptime in the past 3 months has been around 99.4% which isn't bad at all.

Their servers are located at The Planet which is great!

Well finding another web host who offers reseller plans that are as established, reliable and affordable as dathorn.com is almost impossible.

First I checked out BitStreamHosting.com, they seem very new and most of the reviews are unfavorable or so-so, nothing really outstanding.

Next I thought Cybrisk.com was a potential winner especially offering 5GB/50GB for $19.99/mo but come on why so cheap? I sent them a PM on WHT almost a week ago with some sales questions, no reply. So I guess I'll pass on them but damn 5/50 for $20/mo is HOT! Here is a personal review in which they only received a 2.75/5 rating. Not impressive.

So I think I'm going to check out ThrillHost.com which is an awesome deal. Order by August 1st and receive an extra 1GB/10GB free upgrade, so for $15/mo you get 3.5GB webspace and 45GB bandwidth. What I'm wondering is if I can still take advantage of their $5 off promo (although it expired 7/7/2003 - perhaps they can extend it?) and if they offer SSH shell access.

If I can get the free 1/10 upgrade, $5 off and they do offer SSH shell access then they might be the 4th web host to receive the RossMAN Seal of Approval alongside AddAction.net, dathorn.com and HTTPme.com.

Ok i've read so much regarding webhosting here and i gotta couple questions.
I have 2 domains, which a friend hosts one for free and the other for $5/month or so - i only get 30MB of space a month :(

So i've been looking for a new host, and not sure of what to do. I really dont want to spent $13.50/month for dathorn, even if i can host both on it. So basically i'm looking for something with a nice chunk of space (100-200MB?) to host my picture gallery and my site, which doesnt get much traffic at all. Any recommendations?

I use PHP, mySQL, need SSH shell access, webmail.

I know people with ICDSoft that are happy and its only $5/month. I also have to re-register my domains soon.
I dont want to pick some company that just started - I want one thats been around for a while and will be around for a while.
I'll keep reading though, let me know if anyone has suggestions.

If you can host 1 domain plus 5 more domains for $6.95/mo can you afford that?

So, i'd be able to host both my domains, plus 4 more from the one account?
Probably, it depends on what the options were.

Depending on what you want to do with the other sites you can host up to 1 main domain and 5 additional domains using ADDON DOMAIN feature.

AddAction.net offers 1 main domain hosting with 5 ADDON domains so you could host up to 6 web sites with 1 web hosting plan. As for email, FTP, databases, etc. I'm not sure how it affects all that since I haven't played with ADDON domains yet.

I'll look into that addaddiction, but that addon domain thing seems funny, noone seems to know what it really is. I *MIGHT* just end up going with dathorn b/c i can how multiple domains there on the one account. We'll see, i dont really want to spend $13.50/month. Dathorn has soo much more then addition for 2x the amount though.

Yep dathorn offers more than twice the value of addaction.net

$13.50 dathorn WHM, cpanel, UNLIMITED domains (not addon), SSH shell access, personalized name servers, a lot.
$6.95 a great value for a personal, family or even business website
==================================
$6.55 per month difference - well worth it

I try to mention them whenever someone wants good and affordable Windows/ASP web hosting but that's pretty rare.

Their redhat hosting looks pretty good and cheap. Only problem is having multiple domains. Does dathorn ever run specials, i really cant bring myself to pay $160/yr for hosting. I like it when i pay yearly and they give me two months free :)

They did offer some rare specials over a year ago but no they do not offer specials, coupons or discounts.

The web hosting is cheap as is, it sells itself, their new servers usually sell out within hours or days of coming online.

Most dathorner's offset the cost by giving out cPanel accounts for $3/mo to $5/mo to fellow forum members. I currently offer $5/mo web hosting to quite a few AT'ers, so I break even every month :)
