Ok, i found 3 really good web hosting companies but not sure which is better. Let me know what you guys think.

Dathorn.com <-- This website has plans comparable to Hostrocket.com. Huge (+) is a 2.5GB webspace! and 30GIG bandwith! Great value! IMO But i don't know about their reliaibility. Anybody?

Hostrocket.com <-- Great host too. 750Mb of webspace and 37gig trasnfer badnwith. Only downside is that they have a lot of one time charges and you have to pay for a dedicated IP addy. But other than that, it is good.

Addaction.net <-- Plan isn't as great as the other, but they have 6 months free and everything else isn't too bad. Very modest company. Reliability is good from what i hear.

What are your thoughts on these companies?

Any recommendations?

They can all be found at WebHostingTalk.com and in my Hot Deals thread.

Here are my recommendations in order from cheapest to most expensive:
1) RippleHost.com and yes the $4.99 plan is still available.

2) AddAction.net you pay $9.95 setup fee, FREE 6 months of webhosting with no obligation. If you choose to keep your account it's just $6.95/mo or $41.70/6 months. My forums http://forums.gottadeal.com/ are hosted by AddAction.net and I have nothing but great things to say about them. Yesterday I submitted a trouble ticket and within the same hour I had a response waiting for me. I could go on and on but bang for your buck AddAction.net cannot be beat.

If you decide to keep the account for 1 year your average cost is $4.30/mo, pretty damn cheap if you ask me.

3) dathorn.com the best value is their "business" hosting plan which gives you 3.75GB webspace and 45GB/mo bandwidth. Search for dathorn on WHT and you'll find nothing but praise. I recently convinced our own Kenji4861 to switch from his current webhosting provider to dathorn.com [AT thread), you can test the speeds by visiting his Hot Deals website Spoofee.com

4) WHT regulars know who Aussie Bob is and also know that HTTPme.COM is the best of the best. It isn't cheap but their uptime and tech support are phenomenal.

If you have any questions regarding any of these webhosting companies please don't hesitate to post them here, PM, or e-mail me at rossman@gottadeal.com

I used to be with Hostrocket. They overload their servers so much that if you get any decent traffic your site will slowly come to a crawl. I am with Dominet now. They are pretty decent and have fair prices for active websites.

First you would contact your current domain registrar and request a domain transfer which you may be charged extra fees for.

Secondly obtain a new webhosting provider then update your DNS nameservers with your new domain registrar for your new webhosting account.

Who is your current domain registrar, why are you transferring?
Which domain registrar are you moving to?
Who is your current webhost provider, why are you transferring?
Have you found a new webhosting provider yet?
What are your requirements for webhosting, webspace, bandwidth and budget?

i registered domains with 3-95.com and dixiesys hosts my shiet. My contract is up in june, but i'll be at basic training then. and just recently i decided to actually use my web space for more then email and file hosting, and have started putting some time into it (mostly offline still) i dont really wanna start a working website on a host that im gonna want to switch soon. i'd rather just do it now and lose a few months. i think addaction's plan is right in my range for everything

Good idea, so far I am 110% happy with AddAction.net I just hope things keep running as smooth as they have been. Just remember to use the special link to get The Plan and 6 free months, $9.95 for 6 months is pretty damn awesome if you ask me.

Which domain registar are you switching to? I have been very happy with NameCheap.com so far.

Also I prefer AddAction.net's control panel over Dixiesys's Ensim and Plesk, a lot more features plus some pretty cool auto install scripts.

eyah, the autoinstall looks impressive.. php is a BITCH with dixiesys.. or at least it was for me.. and the email servers are slow

i'll probably just go with namecheap.. they look like they should be fine

I love my Dixiesys account, use it mostly for FTP hosting and e-mail but it works and it was dirt cheap $39.95/yr.

Damn I miss those 2 for 1 deals, Gary if you're listening bring them back!!!

True but I think the 2nd business plan is the best of them all or maybe the $27/mo.

You just get an insane amount of webspace/bandwidth I dunno how they do it.

I signed up for AddAction.net about a week ago and after the first few days when the NAC was having problems it has been great. They run very efficiently, the speed is very nice and support is very responsive. Very good deal too for the service they offer, I moved my site from another host that charged more but offered less. So my opinion is that you try addaction, but I can't say for the other two hosts you have listed.

Or you can try Go Daddy. They are pretty cheap as well. Rossman, you're practically everywhere! LoL. I was on spoofee.com and i found your name there because you referred AddAction.net to them! LoL. =)

Anways, Spoofee.com is with Dathorn.com and i am still wondering if anybody has actually been with them? I looked for reviews, but so for, everybody seems to be around 65/35 for them.

jacob0401 - It's nice to see another happy AddAction.net customer here. I agree that NAC outages were rough but they weren't AddAction's fault so I just had to ride them out.

WayneTeK - Yes I admit it, I do get around. AFAIK Spoofee is still using asplut.net until get his domain issues resolved THEN he'll start utilizing his new dathorn.com hosting account. I'll ask him 1-2 months from now what he thinks about them, curious to see what he has to say.

Ok. found some reviews on Dathorn.com and apparently they are really good. They might be overselling, but from what the webhosttalk.com says, they are stlil pretty reliable. Jsut wanted to keep you guys informed.

Gee really? :D Yeah everything I have read so far has been positive about dathorn.com and their prices are incredible.

They also have servers at ThePlanet.com which is expensive but also very reliable.

Nope my recommendations remain the same.

RippleHost - If you want dirt cheap $5/yr with NO TECH SUPPORT.

AddAction - THE BEST bang for your buck webhost for small, personal, family, or hobby website. Excellent cPanel control and great tech support (which I have used a few times).

dathorn - THE absolute best when it comes to reliability and the flexibility of a resellers account.

AddAction + dathorn = Perfection

Figured it was about time to pay for my own host, since paulson has been kind enough to host for me and others for awhile. I think us leaches are killing his bandwidth now because the connection has gotten slow lately.

Paulson has been very generous offering his forums, pichosting service and webhosting all for free. He deserves more recognition for what he has contributed to the AT community.

AddAction so far has been outstanding. My major concern was bandwidth since I have forums which suck up bandwidth, but with 10GB of bandwidth per month, I'll be fine unless my forums explode and 1,000 new people sign up which I don't see happening any time soon.

What's really nice is their reliability, speed, tech support tickets get answered quickly and with resolution, and my favorite the bluetrix cPanel which makes it VERY easy to do anything.

If you need any help just hollar at me on AIM or MSN, I'll help ya if I can.
