Yes, in fact, this is not the right place for my kind of question and discussion. I will try to find another place:)

I signed up 4 days ago and have not received any word on my account and no one has responded to my e-mails. Has anyone else experienced problems like that?

I had an email within 10 minutes of signing up. but it seems like some stufff slips through somettimes. I'd give Gary a call, or email him.

Definitely not normal, email sales@dixiesys.com and tell me what domain and I'll do a search for it and see what happened.

Yeah, I signed up for several domains (a six pack), but I've reconsidered and then signed up for a reseller account package. I signed up four hours ago and nothing from Gary... he was pretty speedy initially, but I emailed him since Sunday at 12:00PM, and nothing back so far. Is this unusual?

I already sent dixiesys.com this question already, but maybe someone here can help me out. How many ftp accounts do you get? I see everywhere else saying they have 25 account included (or whatever amount they say), but is it that important to have more then one? Thanks

I think the default is 25, but Gary can add more for you if needed. You don't really need more than 1 ftp account unless you have a reseller account.

I sent your Reseller Plan information 36 minutes after your signup.

Have you not recieved it?

... Crap I just noticed what's going on.

You signed up redhairpro.com right?

Well when I try to send you email to that address, Dixiesys' mail server thinks it's delivering mail for redhairpro.com since it's in its domain list, and it bounces the mail. I get ~400 bounces a day or so (every bounced message gets sent to me, for EVERY user on my systems) and I don't even TRY and read them all. I just noticed the redhairpro.com in your sig, looked at your reseller plan information mail noticed it used the same mail, and I remember setting up that domain a bit ago.

I will resend the message using an email account external to dixiesys.com so that you will recieve it properly :)

Just because you're not getting my messages don't mean I ain't responding :D

Good guys, transferred my website from godaddy to dixiesys/3-95. Going from $120/yr to $40 a year is quite a savings. :)
Anyone know how much they charge to register .com domains? Plan to set up a website for my dad.

It takes 12-48 hours until all the DNS servers are updated, this includes your ISP. When I had @home as an ISP it sometimes took a whole week. Everybody could see my new sites except me...

really??? That sucks. I mean if I can't see my own website for a week... that would really blow.

i signed up, this is great for a week.
BUT. I also paid $28 for 2 year renewal of my website domain. Dixiesys failed to tell me they couldn't transfer registrar's from register.com to dixiesys.
Now that my domain's expired. i have no website, and Dixiesys has $67.50 that i paid.

We can transfer from anyone.

If your domain is within 45 days of expiring I always recommend being careful. If your domain is expired now you were less than a week maybe 2 weeks from expiring when you put the transfer in. Register.com REFUSED the transfer because well, they do that sort of thing when you're close to expiration. Network Solutions has been known to do it if you had less than 60 days "there's not enough time to initiate this transfer".

Now we can either register you a new domain, refund the registration and you can try and reclaim it with register.com but if it's any sort of domain that's worth anything those bastards have auctioned it off to the highest bidder by now.

However posting here is a very slow way to get your problem solved as I often ignore the "new post at Anandtech" emails for 2 or 3 days.

Well I took the plunge and signed up. I figure for a Counter-Strike clan website, we wont be having near 5 gb of bandwidth being used including downloads of the different maps. And if for some reason we do, the extra charge isn't too big of a hit. Will there be any problem with a forum being set up?

Gary - Dixiesys - I love this stuff.
But this ain't the right forum for most of what is coming up.

What alternative place most suits you?
