This is a little OT, but I noticed a posty by METAPY a while back regarding using a catch-all email address. The link included in the post described using the catch-all to see where your email was snagged from (give
rc_microsoft@blah.com to Microsoft and see if you end up with pyramid scheme junk going to that address).
As an extension to that, I was wondering if it would be possible to filter "marked" email like that to a couple of different users
say you have two people using a hostname for email "Jim" and "Bob" (jim@blah.com,
bob@blah.com), and they give out the following emails:
jim_slashdot@blah.com
jim_anandtech@blah.com
bob_arstechnica@blah.com
bob_slashdot@blah.com
Would it be difficult to get the mail server to send jim*@blah.com to jim's primary address and bob*@blah.com to bob's address? ("*" being a wildcard)?
Yeah, I know it's ~way~ off topic... think of it as a "bump"...
Thanks,
RC
