Corona relief means 500M for Israel and tax break for race horse ownership...

If I remember correctly, the coronavirus relief package was just one of a few items they voted on the other day. Foreign aid was simply another item included in tbe year-end omnibus spending bill that also keeps the government running.

At least if the stimulus package is going to be criticized, it should be criticized for real reasons and not made up ones.

I am saying these are distinct items and should be voted separately. I dislike omnibus bills, too much is being hidden.

And how did that separate coronavirus relief bill go earlier in the year? A few attempts to pass one through the senate after March went nowhere.

A lot of it is just grease in the wheels and necessary legislation all rolled into one package because dysfunctional congress can't pass regular legislation anymore.

Congress is presently almost entirely incapable of operating in this way. Especially the Senate.

Bring back earmarks for regular bills so they don't all avalanche in to the omnibus every few years. Easier to keep track of what's being done and greases the skids for legislation that should pass.

I didn't know Israel was a district, nor of the existence of a race horse owner disctrict...
The point is that if every part were voted on distinctly the most likely outcome is nothing at all because there’s no way to make binding commitments.

Does the bill include forgiveness of the SS taxes some employers chose to not deduct from paychecks for the past four months as Trump attempted to bribe the electorate with their own money? If not, the affected employees' paychecks are going to get smaller in a couple weeks. That $600 might not be enough to cover paying up the deferred taxes. If it does forgive the deferred taxes, does it also include provision to repay the SS fund from the general fund?

From my understanding it does not but also if I remember right very few employers took them up on that for precisely this reason.

Americans are being fleeced by our own government. Very likely the politicians securing their own futures, with bribes, once this house of cards folds.
$600 to each American. What a joke this is.

Are you fucking retarded? These fucks just fleeced the country for 2.3T dollars that we don't have and you're coming up with stupid childish nicknames? Do you understand what is happening here? We have a govt that is using a pandemic to enrich other countries with our debt that America will never be able to pay back. This isn't a right or left thing. This is America and pretty soon we aren't even going to have a country.

I eagerly await Paul's proposal to raise taxes on his billionaire buddies to pay for the deficit spending he's scolding.

Rand only cares about the deficit because a Democrat is moving into the White House in January.

Also, Rand's bitching about the governors and mayors COVID responses is self-aggrandizing kibbitching, easy to do when he has no responsibility.

This country is lost. Simple as that.
I'll pretend you can have a rational discussion for now..

You do realize that the left and the right just signed into motion a complete piece of garbage stimulus that does almost nothing for the average American. I've seen somewhere that the majority of this money isn't even going to America, period.
We are spending money we don't have. And at the very least if we are taking on massive debt it at least should go to middle America.

Do you think the government should have provided larger stimulus checks? If so, the people you voted for were the ones standing against it.

False.

that America will never be able to pay back.

You realize government debt and household debt are totally different things, right? There is no need for the government to ever pay back its debt.

This isn't a right or left thing. This is America and pretty soon we aren't even going to have a country.
The primary threat to the country at the moment seems to be an attempt by the president of the United States to corruptly use his powers of office to overturn an election he decisively lost.

As someone who voted for him because you cared about law and order, how do you feel about this lawlessness?

Whoever told you the majority of the money wasn't going to America was either massively ignorant or purposefully lying to you. Either way you should never listen to them again.

Didn't Trump tell Pelosi he'd sign a stimulus bill for $1200 to each American with nothing else attached? What happened with that? Nothing. Shows how much the Dems care about us.
Look around fool. The people we supposedly elected are fleecing our dying country. We are so close to a total collapse that it's not even funny anymore.

Trump can say whatever he wants when #MoscowMitch is running the Senate. You understand how this works?

Can't fix stupid I suppose... I think Nancy Pelosi should have taken Trump up on his offer of $1200 stimulus checks with nothing attached.

Yeah there is no reason to ever pay our debt back.. I guess the dollar collapsing is no big deal.

And how is Trump using the court system, the constitution, lawyers, an attempt to overthrow an election? These are laws put in place to insure voting integrity.
