If I remember correctly, the coronavirus relief package was just one of a few items they voted on the other day. Foreign aid was simply another item included in tbe year-end omnibus spending bill that also keeps the government running.

At least if the stimulus package is going to be criticized, it should be criticized for real reasons and not made up ones.

And how did that separate coronavirus relief bill go earlier in the year? A few attempts to pass one through the senate after March went nowhere.

A lot of it is just grease in the wheels and necessary legislation all rolled into one package because dysfunctional congress can't pass regular legislation anymore.

Congress is presently almost entirely incapable of operating in this way. Especially the Senate.

Bring back earmarks for regular bills so they don't all avalanche in to the omnibus every few years. Easier to keep track of what's being done and greases the skids for legislation that should pass.

If not, the affected employees' paychecks are going to get smaller in a couple weeks. That $600 might not be enough to cover paying up the deferred taxes. If it does forgive the deferred taxes, does it also include provision to repay the SS fund from the general fund?
